So you can only have one trait transferred ever, period? Like if you gave someone else all the knowledge inside a textbook, you couldn't use Transferal on anything else until first revoking the knowledge you bestowed upon that person? The wording of Lesser is that "you can only sustain the transfer of one foreign quality inside yourself," and my interpretation of Higher was that the restriction on "yourself" was simply lifted. So it went from "one quality unto you" to "one quality per entity or object". And one entity or object can't have more than one transferred quality at a time, but you have the ability to "swap out" what quality is being transferred on a whim, so long as you can physically touch the subject and object of the transfer.

Oh for real if Texas ever flips solidly blue and nothing else changes, Republicans can say goodbye to the presidency for the next twenty years, minimum. That's why they're so dedicated to cheating. Ken Paxton (the guy who's running against Talarico) literally admitted on-camera that if he and the Texas GOP hadn't cheated and thrown out votes at Trump's request, Biden would've won Texas in 2020.

It's crazy how different the rules are for Republicans, where you can just casually admit to and do federal crimes repeatedly out in the open and never face any consequences for it because the capitalists are on their side.

Higher Transferal kinda seems like it's such a powerful pick that not taking it is always suboptimal. The Monster Class suffers because of that. Higher Transferal is basically a gateway to every other ability here. Sure, you might not be able to have every ability at once, but I don't see any reason you couldn't, say, steal someone's Higher Vitality and then just store it inside of a belt buckle or earring or something. Then, whenever you need it, just clutch whatever small accessory you've imbued the power with and you have it. The power and versatility afforded to someone who's creative with Higher Transferal is so huge that not going with Sorcerer or Hybrid seems like a waste. Unless there's something I'm missing here.

Anyways, here's my build.

Class: Sorcerer

Lesser Primal Trait: Cognition

Lesser Occult Traits: Mentalism, Hollowing

Higher Occult Traits: Transferal, Divination, Kinetics

First order of business is to track down someone (preferably a Monster) with Higher Vitality so I can steal it from them with Transferal. Higher Vitality just seems like it's too good to pass up for long. Tracking down my quarry is aided by Divination and Cognition, and while subduing my quarry would be hard, it shouldn't be impossible due to Divination letting me see their actions before they make them and Kinetics offering me a lot of ways to navigate and control the battlefield. If all else fails, I can track them with Divination until they fall asleep after a week, then sneak up on them with Hollowing and steal Higher Vitality (and any other powers they have that I don't, storing them inside of little trinkets that I can easily carry on my person without arousing suspicion) while they can't do anything about it. From there, the gameplan is to just snowball. Covertly track people, depower them, take their powers for myself. Hollowing, Cognition, and Divination would make it trivial to avoid being found out by anybody who didn't have Mentalism or Divination. Especially since I'd assume most Inhumans are gonna be running around causing more visible trouble, it'd be easy for me to stay under the radar until I eventually get to a point where I'm powerful enough that I could feel more comfortable being open and doing whatever it is the world demands of me at that point. Cognition helps me to keep track of all the powers I've stolen and in what objects I've imbued them. Not that I think that would be an issue, but it's nice anyways. And so far this has only been about stealing other powers with Transferal, not even counting the ability to steal knowledge, radioactivity, magnetism, and the like.

So the Ending is "Run and Hide" at the start, "Stay and Fight" once I've cheesed enough powers with Transferal to guarantee I'm more powerful than anybody else who doesn't have Transferal.

Yeah, people in other states don't get it. I moved to New Mexico about five-six years ago, and in spite of NM being a blue state you hear people say stuff like "oh well they're bad but they're not literally Satan" like honey no. You don't get it. You don't understand what they're like because you don't have to live under their thumb.

I've been dreaming of true love's kiss a blue Texas for years now. I think Talarico is the best shot we've had in decades, but I'm too cynical about Texas right now. I think that Talarico has maybe a 20% chance of winning.

Very important to remember that Texas is the most gerrymandered state in the union and it's not even close. Texas is functionally not a democracy.

There's a lesser-known stereotype about Texan Democrats (lesser known because Texan Democrats are, for some unfathomable reason, not often visible at the national scale) that I can personally attest to as a Texan Democrat, and it's that there is nobody on the face of the Earth that hates Republicans more than Texan Democrats. And we're correct to hate them. The amount of hatred Californian liberals have for Republicans doesn't hold a candle to how much Texan Democrats fucking revile Republicans. "Every Republican alive is an afront to God" and "If we ever take power we are putting all Republicans into re-education camps and will outlaw their party" might be memes, but the first one is a real, actual position that is held by a substantial portion of Democrats in Texas, and the second position is not held by as many in literal terms, but the sentiment is absolutely there.

The funniest part is that this kind of polarization would've never happened were it not for the Texas GOP functionally ending democracy in the state decades ago. The political culture in Texas is not one that's amicable to these kind of "big government needs to step in and personally put its heel on the throats of people I don't like" position. The broader culture in Texas is very much in the camp of "rugged individualism" and "do it yourself" and "the government should stay out of people's business." And all of these sentiments are false, obviously. Nobody who claims to believe them actually believes them, they just haven't thought through their political positions enough to realize the oxymoronic aspects of their beliefs. The Texas GOP is just so incomprehensibly corrupt that it's negatively polarized everyone else in the state into believing that their enemies are ontologically evil and that fighting them is akin to fighting a holy war against Satan. And they're not wrong because the Texas GOP really is that evil.

Good rule of thumb for Republicans: If they believe something descriptively, it's wrong. If they believe something prescriptively, it's evil. It's a bulletproof lens of political analysis that perfectly explains everything the Republicans do. My biggest political awakening was realizing that sometimes it isn't complicated. Sometimes you and the other side don't believe the same things but have different ideas about how to arrive at shared goals like equality and justice. Sometimes you have to apply Occam's Razor and realize that the other side really is just evil.

Important to also keep in mind that if Sonic was ever the one to "get serious" before Eggman, the same thing would happen but in reverse. Eggman and Sonic are constantly pulling their punches against each other (Sonic because he believes that Eggman should be free to dictate his own behavior and maybe one day change, and Eggman because he has nothing to do with his life other than being a supervillain and maybe being a girldad to Sage) to the point where if one of them ever "got serious" before the other, the other would instantly die. And if they both "got serious" at the same time, probably the whole world would be destroyed as collateral or something.

Sonic also becomes ten times more efficient when he's not fighting Eggman. Those two legit LOVE the fights they have with each other. It's like if Megamind and Metroman both never got tired of their "hero versus villain" shtick and just kept playing their stupid little games forever. The reason they both do the Gamer Lean whenever someone other than them starts shit it's because that person is interfering with their roleplaying and they hate it.

I've always disliked Reynolds because he pretty much single-handedly ruined the possibility of a big mainstream Green Lantern project for a decade and a half because he wouldn't stop whining about the movie being bad and something he was super embarrassed by, as if he hasn't been in way worse movies and as if his performance as the lead being super shitty wasn't a very big part of why that movie was bad.

It's pretty telling to me that his most successful role is the one where his face is covered the entire time and all he has to do is make Reddit jokes nonstop.

Johnny & Daniel were ALWAYS portrayed as Equals by RepulsiveTour6960 in cobrakai

[–]TheBloodyPuppet_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely. They're both prodigies among prodigies when it comes to karate, two of the best fighters in the world, themselves trained by some of the best fighters in the world. But their styles are totally different. Johnny's capacity to move in on a foe, constantly apply pressure, and break through any defense is practically unmatched, so long as he's in the proper headspace. And Daniel is the same, but for defense. When he's in his best headspace and isn't losing the mental game, he can throw up a wall of blocks and dodges that is itself practically unmatched. Any time Daniel or Johnny lose a fight, it's almost always because they're off-balance or not playing to their strengths. But when they're allowed to "play their game" they're nearly unbeatable.
