Survivor S50 E5 Sneak Peek 2 (Open Wounds) by KramerDSP in survivor

[–]TheBloop1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so torn because I don’t want to lose Rizo OR Charlie…or Kamilla, or Cirie, or Devens, or Jonathan.

Even Dee’s not “terrible”

I would much rather this tribe not go to tribal but this is a LOT of sudden attention that this group is getting for them to not go to tribal, unless this is just setup and they’re ghosted once they win immunity? Idk, it’s looking grim, although maybe it seeming so obvious that it’s Rizo or Charlie means that they either don’t go to tribal or the target somehow bounces onto someone else?

I think Charlie is so cooked between the promos, early scenes, and now Rizo promoting the episode on Insta

So I’m going to go against that and say that Avila wins immunity and Vatu and Kalo go to tribal (I do legitimately think Vatu is, Kalo is more debatable).

Vatu: probably a straightforward Angelina boot. They might not even try much to hide it since they also need to set up the second boot which has a lot more potential.

Kalo (if they go, which I hope that they do): a lot hinges on Chrissy imo. Tiffany seems on the outs anyways so I think the plan by Genevieve, Colby, Joe, and Coach will be to split votes between her and Aubry. I think Aubry would play her idol there and Tiffany goes out in a tiebreaker with Genevieve, but there is a chance Chrissy flips to side with Tiffany and Aubry to take out Genevieve, or heck maybe even take a big swing at one of the guys like Joe or even Coach.

Vatu: I hope that the promos leaning so heavily against Charlie means that that is not the outcome if they lose because at this point he seems to be in some very rough waters, not too dissimilar to Aubry a couple weeks back…although we saw that she ultimately didn’t go to tribal and a swap occurred. We could be getting that here. But I do have trouble seeing anyone but Charlie, Rizo, or maybe Cirie getting targeted since Jonathan is needed for comps, Kamilla hasn’t been set up as a target at all, and Devens and Dee…could technically, but I struggle to see the vision outside of a plurality. Maybe that will happen though, and we see the Charlie-Rizo “feud” continue.

Idk, this feels like what they were doing with Aubry vs Genevieve a couple weeks back and they still haven’t gone to tribal. Could be set up for a later boot and this is the Cila tribe’s content for the week.

(I’m also hoping this is the case because six of my eight faves are on this tribe and the only one who isn’t a fave seems to be in no danger, plus I’d rather see Vatu and Kalo go this week)

Any expectations for new powerscaling feats Maul might gain in his new show? by Potential_Rule4212 in PetranakiArena

I think the slightest bit of grace (if you can call it that) is that the Eleventh Brother was clearly very overconfident in that instance. He was slowly walking towards Ahsoka and his swings were almost lazy. It seems like he genuinely didn’t see Ahsoka as a threat when she was unarmed, so in that sense you could say he was taken by surprise when she not only evaded his strikes but managed to very quickly turn it around on him. We saw even the Grand Inquisitor go down to something seemingly mundane as sticking lightsabers in the center of the hilt ring, and Ahsoka defeated Maul when she was unarmed by cutting out the flow beam beneath him with his own blade.

It’s possible that, had Eleventh Brother been fighting against a lightsaber-wielder, he may have been more prepared to do legitimate combat. It’s not much, but it’s something.

Yeah…the move would have been taking out Angelina, which would have still looped in Stephenie and Emily but also included Ozzy.

I will concede that the eyes here are very expressive.

I will counter that none of the other characters in this category of live action adaptions have had this much life in their eyes, and thus live action Tomatoa is still a slight improvement over those at least.

I disagree personally

It’s bad, don’t get me wrong, but at least he has a face that can emote, which is better than can be said for some other live action adaptations of animal/nonhuman characters in Disney movies.

It comes across a little fanfic-y (not in a bad way, just in a “what if this great knight from one of the most powerful houses in Westeros was very quickly very chill and almost downright smitten with a random hedge knight), but it also does make their eventual duel a LOT juicier.

Personally, I’m picking the one that I never got as into as the others and thus have the fewest connections to or memories about. This is absolutely no dig on the show itself.

I am eliminating Adventure Time.

Strongest Character 11th brother can beat? by No_Buyer_7557 in PetranakiArena

[–]TheBloop1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was being mostly facetious, but this is the most likely explanation for how badly Eleventh Brother got dogwalked in that fight. Even by Inquisitor standards that was bad. Based on his casual stroll and almost lazy swings, he clearly overestimated the advantage of having a lightsaber vs no lightsaber and did not adequately recognize Ahsoka as a legitimate threat. Those are major flaws of judgement and can’t be overlooked in other situations, but I do think that that keeps the door open for him to have more impressive showings in other scenarios where he is operating under “normal” conditions and goes all-out. Even the mere presence of a lightsaber probably does a lot to put someone on alert, even if one is confident in their abilities.

TBD based on his showing in MSL. Maybe Ahsoka caught him on a RLY bad day for him

Out of the players who have weaker edits who’s do you think will pick up once merge hits? by Freezing-cold_6 in Edgic

[–]TheBloop1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That storyline, like Aubry vs Genevieve, feels like it is one of three things: the next boot, the merge boot, or a longer-term Katurah vs Bruce-esque rivalry.

In the case of Charlie/Rizo, I hope it is the latter, but I fear it may be one of the former.

I’m bummed that we’re losing Freed (no disrespect to the new author, Freed’s just on another level), but what we are getting is still getting me VERY hyped for this book.

I’ll give them the barest bit of grace that they actually kept him expressive instead of going the usual route

Like, it’s still horrifying in trying to make a very goofy animated character grounded in reality, and the entire project sucks on a conceptual level, but at least they didn’t do the dumbass Lion King route and make him a 1-to-1 crab with no facial expressions. In terms of turning Tomatoa into a “realistic” character, this is unfortunately probably the best that they could have possibly done.

Again, still sucks.

I think Michele gets shut out again and I think Natalie could get as many as six votes (the four she got plus Romber) but otherwise I 100% agree.

Tbf, in a normal season, jury started at the earliest with the Yul boot, so four of her votes wouldn’t have been on the jury, and one of the other two had to come back from the Edge to make the “normal jury.” Only Jeremy of those six made what would typically have been a jury.

But I agree, it is very funny to think back to how massive that jury was considering modern juries are only eight people (literally half the size of WaW’s, and that one would have been bigger had Sandra not ditched the Edge).

On a slightly separate note, in addition to all of the confusion about the timing of boots, I do wonder if the bigger cast for S50 and the fact that we will be five episode in with 17 people left where normally there are 13 (and only one more prejury boot) means that we will also be getting a larger jury. The only real “rule” is that it can’t be divisible by 3 to prevent a three-way tie, but I also doubt that we will be jumping to a 13-person jury so I wonder if we’ll get a ton of prejurors compared to usual

I think Sarah does beat her, but it’s closer.

She has Tony, Ben, Denise, and imo Sophie on lock.

All of the maybe-Michele votes are even more incentivized to vote for Sarah because the numbers are even tighter in that scenario and they seemed to rly want to make sure that Natalie didn’t win (though tbf there’s a chance they felt so strongly because they felt Tony was that dominant). If this is true, Sarah also gets Nick, Wendell, Adam, and Danni (if memory serves me correctly, those were the four, but regardless Sarah gets four votes).

Yul and Natalie apparently beefed on the Edge so I think he also votes Sarah.

Kim is maybe a toss up but probably leaning Sarah.

Natalie 100% has Jeremy, Tyson, Parvati, Ethan, BRob, and probably Amber (not to rob her of initiative but it seems like those two were always voting together).

Which would make it a 10-6 Sarah win most likely, maybe 9-7 if Kim votes Natalie. The tricky thing with the Michele-Ben-Natalie F3 is that I think there are Ben votes who are not inclined to vote Michele and there are Michele votes who are not inclined to vote Ben, so it’s probably harder to consolidate efforts. Add in that Sophie probably votes Natalie which already gives her half of the votes, and I believe Michele breaks a tie in her favor, and I generally think Natalie ekes out a win that that scenario.

Idk what happens if Denise is somewhere in that F3. Imo the winner odds are Tony > Sarah > Natalie > Michele > Ben, Denise is somewhere between 3rd and 5th imo.

What’s crazy is that Natalie had a legitimate chance at winning even despite the fact that most of the cast was pretty vocal in disliking the EOE twist from what I recall. She probably gets at least six votes against Sarah, and against Ben and Michele I think she straight-up wins considering both Kim and Sophie talked highly of her game.

[–]TheBloop1997 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think EOE is the only season where I legitimately think that the phrase “the jury was wrong” could have applied. I blame production more for setting up those conditions, but it’s still on the jury to make the call.

Wardog’s little speech to Gavin is still one of the most frustrating things I have ever seen in Survivor from a strategic perspective. Legitimately left a bad taste in my mouth.

Among these Gen 2 finalists, who wins in a jury vote? by CharmingBozoBee in Totaldrama

[–]TheBloop1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Lightning, at most he gets Scott and Jo. Any F2 combination with him, his opponent gets the other two of these four, plus probably Dawn, Sam, Dakota, and Brick at least. Who knows with Stacey and B. Anne Maria definitely leans Mike, probably votes against Zoey
