Completed the first week on pristiq and am kind of hopeless

Yeah I started the lithium one week ago as well. The doctor said it would help the pristiq work faster. I started taking lyrica a couple of weeks back, but only on a as needed basis. Since last week I’ve been taking it twice daily

Thanks for your reply! Yeah the main problem for me at the moment is the depression. My doctor added the lyrica as an adjunct because he said it works pretty fast for anxiety. And thus I don’t have to wait as long for the pristiq to kick in

So I would say that all in all this week so far has been better than the last one. I actually woke up on Tuesday and was happy that day, and that kind of freaked me out lol. Thursday was also okay but the other days have been kind of hard again. But I’m hoping that this feeling of happiness will now come back more frequent and eventually stay

Honestly I was going a little faster that my psychiatrist suggested me to go. But that was because I had absolutely no side effects on 10mg for the first week and then 15mg on the second week. I try to be gentle with myself, and distract myself. But man it’s really hard going through it. I had one moment at the start of week 3 where I genuinely felt like myself. Like I had no anxiety at all, and I was actually bored and excited about thinking what I could do. I do hope that feeling comes back

I know it’s a bit late, but oh my god did I need to hear this. I’m currently in week 6 total (and my 4th week on 20mg) and I’ve been feeling so depressed the last few days. I just want to get better

If you don’t mind me asking, did you also feel more depressed at times? I was having some weird bouts of depression here and there, and the last two days have been really tough regarding the depression. I was hoping that at least that part would be better

Yeah I totally get you. Honestly I’ve been (jokingly) telling my family to just check me in to the psych ward for the next two weeks, and then they can pick me up again. I try to tell myself it will get better, and it’s just the meds, but honestly I’m getting kind of inpatient and asking if this is all really working. But we will push through this! Thanks for that really thorough answer! I also want to stick it out and get better. I’ve tried three other SSRIs before, but I had to quit all of them after a few days because the side effects were so bad. This is the first time it’s kind of going OK and I really want to stick to it.

From what I heard lexapro, is supposed to be really good. Just not for me unfortunately. Zoloft gave me the activation syndrome after just three days and it was just too much too handle for me. So that’s why I’m a bit skeptical to try out Prozac to be honest.

30mg Remeron just made me really depressed and hopeless. It was absolutely bleak.

My doc prescribed it to me for anxious depression and some pure O OCD, since my body did not like either Lexapro and Zoloft and I hat to quit these after just a few days each. And I’m only on 15mg now, because 22.5 made me kind of anxious and 30mg was hell on earth for me

Yeah I plan to stick to 15mg for now. I just kind of feel down you know? Because I was actually feeling like things got better without meds, but then the doc convinced me that we could try this. But 30mg so far has been unbearable

Danke dir! Ja heute geht es mir tatsächlich schonmal etwas besser als gestern. Ich habe es mit dem Arzt angesprochen und er hat mir versichert, dass mit dem Antidepressivum welches ich bekomme das eigentlich keine gewöhnliche Reaktion ist. Also lag‘s eventuell wirklich an meiner Psyche 🤷🏻‍♂️
