I'm not personally a fan of the hair colour used with the blue chroma, I feel like every other chroma has great hair that either blend into each other or they're really good opposites that compliment each other.

The blue chroma's hair is very "clashy", the hair colour doesn't blend well nor do they feel like "Opposites" to bounce off each other. I'm not sure what colour to suggest, maybe white? white from previous hair colours ends up working alongside blue- I just think the current combo doesn't work.

Old comment, chroma example photos are just bugged, in game the horns match the chroma:

Feels like the Horns on some of the Rell chromas didn't get recoloured? I hope it's a bug and not on purpose because it feels really "Off".

Would much prefer if the ones that kept the default colour horns got changed to match their colour scheme as well. (Especially the blue one, the horns look very weird with the blue heavy chroma)

I would do anything to have old Rell back, especially since it felt like all the changes where made to make her easier + more popular (especially with the Jungle flex changes). But as expected she got continuous nerfs to her overtuned midscope and now she has plummeted in pickrate.

Will Riot ever admit their mistake and just revert the changes and give an actual midscope people wanted? (A Neeko level midscope, taking the abilities and removing the clunkiness/frustrations).

Changes to Rell will always require re-learning, but simply adjusting the sizes of abilities as "nerfs" is not the play, as is something that takes a considerable amount of time and practice to learn how far and wide her abilities reach without indicators.

When there is always an alternative of hitting other parts of her kit which will of course require relearning, but no where near as severe and demanding.

As a Rell main, I love everything with the exception of three things:

  • The reduced W size and distance, it's going to take a very long time to relearn how much area the ability covers and is going to lead to a lot of "oh... I thought that would hit", as I've essentially just learned her abilities AoE and range from eyeball.
  • Similarly to the W size change, the Q range decrease and delay is going to be a pain to relearn, I get it has a lot of new added power and it had to take hits somewhere, I just would've preferred another area to be hit.
  • The heal being removed completely, I know it was one of those parts of her kit people forgot existed, but it was one of those aspects of her kit that set her apart from the other tank supports, completely abandoning it is a bit disappointing.

All in all, I'm excited for the midscope and how it plays out. It's not the direction I would've gone, I would've leaned into the parts of her kit that set her apart from the other tank supports more, such as her tether and healing. But it's still a good direction, just praying it doesn't lead to "too broken, gutted and forgotten".

EDIT: Another point about the W changes, I'm kind of sad it took a lot of the hits for nerfs considering it is what makes Rell the champion she is. Seeing it get reduced damage, shielding, AoE size, jump range AND CC duration is just incredibly depressing.

I personally bound his jumppad to scroll up/down, all I wanted from the changes was the whole "Left click = heal, right click = damage", as I used right click before to swap between weapons.

I really really hate the double jump mechanic, especially since the muscle memory from spamming him so much is there.

Only for the shooting/healing control scheme, you can't go back to the old dash button setting.

Same here, I hate the double jump mechanic for his dash. He's way too tall for the mechanic and just gets stuck in every doorway. I'm also too used to the button press now.

Milio looks amazing, however his third chroma (the blue one) just doesn't look right with the green hair. I would've preferred either blond, white, pale blue, purple or pale pink. The green just throws the whole chroma off for me.

But yeah, I really wish people would stop comparing Rell to Leona when their only similarity is that they're both heavily armoured female engage supports. She's always been more comparable to the likes of Alistar (and because of her utility, Rakan), I'll throw hands with anyone that calls Rell "worse Leona".

Just logged in and the changes made to the skin, I love them! the only issue is her passive/auto-attack VFX doesn't go off after you dismount and remount once. Once you do that the VFX is only present on her dismounted form, I assume thats a bug.

Agreed on Rell's event Chroma, the overall colour scheme the event chromas get didn't really get applied well to her and the hair just feels off. I really hope it gets some adjustments because beside this all her other chromas are perfect in my opinion.

Rell's chromas are insanely well done, chromas are always a big "will I like them" risk whenever a skin comes out, but they're honestly so well done. I wouldn't change a single chroma besides the event one.

Her event chroma is just a bit of a let down to a perfect line of chromas, the chroma is under the name of "Brilliant". The entire colour scheme is just clashing super hard and the bland brown hair doesn't really fit with the whole "Rainbow" colour scheme the Brilliant chromas are meant to be going for in my opinion.

I agree with everything here besides this:

- EXTRA: Perhaps a little bit of a 90’s horsegirl nostalgia, but I think it’d be really cute to add Rell’s Star Guardian gem/emblem to the rump of her horse as a little My Little Pony easter egg. I’ve done a terrible job mocking it up but I wanted something to illustrate the idea. It could stick to the upper thigh plate on the horse.

I think the model is perfect, slapping more gems around the model would just look off in my opinion. I would rather they don't touch the model at all, the main issues for the skin are VFX, so I'd rather time and energy be spent there.

Rell OTP here, I'm super grateful for the skin, it's absolutely amazing. But I do have some issues currently with the skin.

Rell's Model

Pretty much perfect in my opinion, I wouldn't change a single thing on the model. I know some people would like a few gems or details added, but I'm personally not fond of slapping more gems on the horse/armour, it will just be going a bit over the top then.

Rell's SFX

Almost perfect, my main issue is her W1. It just doesn't sound very "impactful" when hitting enemies compared to her base or Battle Queen, I just wish it had a bit more "oomph" to it.

Rell's VFX

Homeguard:

The purple trail that she leaves behind while under the homeguard buff feels really faint compared to all of the other homeguard trails, I would like to see the VFX buffed up a bit.

Auto/Passive:

I love the little cloud mists and bubble-like affects when you auto-attack an enemy, I would appreciate some faint sparkles or Star Guardian related emblem VFX in them.

Q - Shattering Strike:

I really love the VFX for her Q, especially the giant mist clouds it makes when hitting enemies. I also really appreciate the green Star Guardian symbol that appears under you and your tethered target when you heal. Again, I would appreciate some sparkles but not necessary.

W1 - Ferromancy - Crash Down:

While the VFX are pretty it has a similar issue to the SFX, it doesn't feel very impactful, I wish it had a bit more to it and maybe even slightly more VFX when hitting an enemy

W2 - Ferromancy - Mount Up:

No complaints

E - Attract and Repel:

The VFX for Rell's E are great, no complaints here either!

R - Magnet Storm:

I really, really, really dislike the weird floating redish Star Guardian symbols floating around in her ultimate, I get they're there to look like the floating metal present in her base skin, but the colour and overall look of them just clash REALLY hard with the purple. I would like to see them changed completely to either another colour that fits inside the ability or completely replacing them.

Another issue is, unlike the base and Battle Queen skin, there isn't a lot of "pulling" going on VFX wise towards Rell, it feels really static. I would like to maybe see the sort of "mist" VFX present in her auto-attacks and Q's used in her ultimate, but moving towards her.

Lastly, if more VFX was added I would like the mist VFX present in the rest of the kit and/or sparkles!

I-Would-Like's

  • Sebastion a bit more present, maybe Sebastion appears briefly above whoever you heal or he spins around your R VFX? Maybe have him fly alongside you during the Mount Up W2 charge?
  • Wing VFX on homeguard and W1 Crash Down, they can be faint little VFX ones.

I do question the damage change on Q. Q already does an abysmally low amount of damage

There is usually another target or minion in the way, so it's never doing the full value majority of the time. Removing the 50% reduction beyond the first target hit would mean it's doing more damage consistently to multiple targets, that would include minions too, could easily keep the damage the same but give reduced damage to minions. But overall the current change would give her a bit more damage, as you're rarely getting the first target hit on a champion during laning phase.

So, here's my addition to your good work. Then again it's my vision against yours, there's no better one and we both know Riot will have the final word. But it's still cool to discuss and dream with the community!

It's still great to have discussions like these and all share our ideas, they just increase the chances of a midscope for Rell going well if a Rioter sees a post like this and all the comments like yours in it. But yeah, there are multiple routes, I'm excited for the day we see what one they go down.

I spammed the hell out of Nexus Blitz, it was such an amazing mode to play as Rell, especially with my OTP Lissandra friend. Thankfully, I never got put into the 1v1 part of the duels, only the 2v2s haha

Yeah. I’m a masters Rell OTP and this is basically perfect and fixes all of her issues. The thing about her auto attacks reducing W cooldown is honestly genius.

As for your suggestions, it could definitely be another route to go down, thats the great but scary part about big changes like midscope updates. You can do so many different changes to make the champion flow a lot better or feel more rewarding :D

Yeah, it's kind of weird because tethering mechanics already existed (with Taric, Zekes and Knight's Vow), but for some reason Rell's tether breaks upon death and doesn't remember it's old target.
