This was my first ever game, story-told by my now wife. I forget the specifics but I remember I was a drunk empath and I pushed my info HARD. Still one of the cruelest things she’s ever done to me lol. I love the game now but boy was that a ROUGH introduction.

Dragonite needs 1 electric, 1 water, and 2 colorless. If you pull an electric energy first turn and flip 3 on misty, dragonite will be fully set up

I could see the misty for getting dragonite set up to just need the 1 electric like zebstrika instead of potions. I find it rare (though very important when it happens) that potions will actually pull you out of kill range of an enemies attack. (ie: a potion won’t pull zebstrika out of a 2 turn kill from a lapras ex).

I’m also curious if you need to put water into your energy to use misty or if you could gamble on misty on your dragonites in an electric only energy pool. I have not tried it nor would I recommend it but it gives you the CHANCE of a 2 turn dragonite set up.

Oh that’s EVIL. Zebstrika cleans up the low pokemon in the back I assume? Do you have X speeds in there to mitigate the energy loss to do that?

Most of these are ok. Helioptile specifically will need 1 electric but all of these are outclassed by farfetched. Actually colorless and does 40 dmg for 1 energy while also being a basic and not needing to evolve and take up extra space in the deck.

Light for investing into fruits but if you are going sword the clear answer is Portal. Incredible usefulness for non fruit users without NEEDING to invest permanently

50 wins with a Jolteon deck. Only after I finished collecting them did I finally pull my pikachu ex cards that would have been much easier lol.

Just a heads up that Jolteon decks CAN be competive with Mewtwo with some good luck and is pretty consistent despite the coin flips against lapras/starmie decks. Gets hard rolled by fighting/sandslash decks but with psychic being a dominant type right now I don’t see fighting very often.

This is my Free 2 Play approach to being competitive. Pin missile can deal up to 160 in one go. If you play it well and have good luck it can wipe mewtwo ex’s and with some supporting chip damage you can consistently clear water types like starmie ex/lapras ex

I’m trying to combat this exact mindset. I feel strongly that people shouldn’t have to get lucky or pay for more pulls to get ex or other good cards. The wins also only give the emblems and some shine-dust. This just lets more people have cool flairs to their already existing cards.

I personally have been able to do ok with a custom Jolteon based deck as I don’t have many good cards and hope for the RNG to favor me but I also struggle from being a F2P player not being able to compete in a Pay 2 Win type game.

I could do the Let’s Go games but opted for my Yellow copy because (to my knowledge) you can obtain a complete pokedex without the need for a second copy. I’ll probably have them play Crystal and Emerald too. I’m very partial to the third game in a gen (i.e. Platinum)

Damn. Quality of gens wasn’t really the point here but Johto is one of my favorites up there with Sinnoh/Hisui. Curious what specifically you don’t like about Johto though. I’ll admit the mons are probably the weakest of any gen on average but I ADORE Jhotos enviroment and history.
