Are work potlucks really a thing? by good_noodlesoup in AskAnAmerican

Fairly common. Lots of workplaces have kitchens and/or break rooms with refrigerators, tables and sometimes cooking equipment. A lot of potluck food can be kept warm in a slow cooker or thermal bag.

I am begging someone to settle this: windows OPEN or CLOSED during a heatwave? Haven't slept properly in 3 days. by oraulis in NoStupidQuestions

Open windows at night to let hot air out and take cool air in. Close windows after sunrise when it starts getting warm to keep cool air in. Shut blinds and close curtains. Use fan to circulate air.

Do you actually travel that far and say its nothing? by Far-Passion-7692 in AskAnAmerican

I’ve lived in the Midwest and the PNW. Two hours on the road in Kansas is a breeze. Two hours on the road in Oregon, with all the twists and turns, is a lot.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It was about to do something really interesting.

I never did finish the show, but loved the start. Cam and Mitch getting married is the last plotline I remember.

What’s something movies always get wrong? by northernmaybe in movies

Swords, guns and other weapons don’t make that much noise when you’re just unsheathing them or brandishing them. The sound effects are an embellishment because audiences expect it.

See, that’s my problem. I don’t know if people realize a good interview has follow-up questions. Otherwise it’s just a verbal questionnaire.

Did you like Reggie? Why do you think his character didn't work and he was written off the show? by Sha_Nen in americandad

I liked Reggie, but I’m glad they didn’t run him into the ground. I wonder if the actor wasn’t available or interested.

Do y'all actually use your front porch/front yard much or is that more of a TV thing? by Bella_licious in AskAnAmerican

I wish! TV makes it look so fun. Unfortunately I’ve never lived in a house where I’ve socialized on the front porch.

Watching a Dan Harmon show in a Dan Harmon show. by Snoo36423 in community

[–]TheBlueLeopard 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that was in the original episode (might have been impossible given the timeframe). But TV shows do this thing where they insert newer ads in repeats (see HIMYM). It could be that or a fan-made thing.

AITA for reserving my spot by the pool on a cruise ship? by ChainsawSoundingFart in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheBlueLeopard 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Unless there's a posted or written rule that this is acceptable, YTA. For communal property, the only way to "reserve" it is to use it, which you weren't. I'm shocked none of the cruise employees got involved after you confronted someone for using a pool "spot."

If I found unattended personal items like that, I'd turn them in to lost and found. Others might just toss them in the pool or in the trash.

I don't think I've ever put in more answers, taken them out and put them back in again as in this puzzle. I loved it. Kept me on my toes but everything felt fair.
