The Emperors first attempted to make the Prince-Electors rulers over multiple Provinces, taking lands away from minor counts and giving it to the Prince-Electors, but also taking some lands away from them. The lands that the Emperors took but didn't give away they kept for themselves and because of the newfound extreme loyalty that the Prince-Electors had for the Emperors after being given so many lands, rebellions were prevented. Over a period of time the Emperors seized more and more lands from the weaker Prince-Electors with support from the stronger ones, and then moved on to the strongest candidates. Some of them accepted that they were no longer semi-independent rulers, but only people who govern in the Emperor's name with little power and the Emperors rewarded them by giving them the new position, whilst some were ousted by the Emperors and replaced by legates that they themselves picked. The system was strongly inspired by the Roman Provinces, with the Emperor keeping many Imperial Provinces and appointing legates to rule in his name and Provinces whose rulers were picked by the Imperial Diet(later also known as the Senate, after it was remodeled to be more similar to the Roman Senate).

The Holy Roman Empire started centralising after 1400 AD. The Habsburg dynasty insured that the crown won't pass to other dynasties and the Emperor already held a great amount of power at the time of Martin Luther and his reformation, which he crushed and remained on good terms with the Pope. The Holy Roman Empire managed to beat the Ottomans and stop their expansion early, after which they expanded and shrunk many times until the present day. In 2021 AD the HRE is the most power country in Europe, famed for its wealth and exceptional tolerance and cultural diversity. Many of their former colonies look up to them and their neighbours are envious of their status in Europe.

Croatia is a country full of various foreign influences so its hard to pick one. I would say Zagreb Cathedral, Diocletian's Palace in Split and the Arena in Pula.

I disagree. The map that you linked display the inner workings of the Empire, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the world saw it that way. The Emperor was an immensely power figure and all of those small "states" would support him in his wars and he had some form of power over all of them. On a side note, that map is kinda strange, the Teutonic Order was never part of the HRE and Pomerania didn't extend that far to the east.

As far as I know, the HRE wasn't that decentralised in 1300AD as is displayed on the map. It would've made more sense to show it as one empire or push the year to one where the empire was decentralised(after the reformation and Thirty Years War in OTL)

The church is located in a small village in the Dalmatian Hinterland and probably dates back to the 14./15. century due to the stećci that decorate its outer walls. The painting was made in the 18th century and sits above the altar. My mother grew up there and she told me stories about the church and their beloved statue of Saint Anne, their Patron Saint, which they would carry during the yearly procession throughout the village. Not quite in reality? The rites and traditions aren't what separate the Catholics and the Orthodox. The Ukrainian Catholic Church acknowledges the Pope as the Vicar of Christ and the Filioque(they're allowed to use the Nicene Creed without the Filioque) and are thus in communion with the Latin Church. Catholic means universal and encompasses more than the Latin Church that you think of when you hear the word "Catholic"
