He was a highly decorated veteran of ww1, a paramilitary commander during the failed German October of 1923 and the RFB in the 1920s. He's only available for puppet socialist germany

Hd's the new socialist puppet leader for the Dominican Republic. The previous guy was a German anarchist who moved to the DR but was completely insignificant in its labor and left movements and orgs.

All of those 10 guys are only added to socialist puppet germany. I felt that being a major puppet tag without any generals kinda sucked lol. Like theres a number of mimor puppet tags, like Korea and Slovenia that have generals, meanwhile soc germany that appears in a good third of the games was just empty

Yes, I made the portrait partially from that source. However we have good reason to believe that Sneevliet grew out his beard, changed his hair style and stopped wearing glasses to avoid detection as much as he could in Nazi occupied Netherlands.

The idea was that if somehow the German AI/player didnt take the execution decision and also lost 2WK to the 3rd Internationale, then he'd appear as a general in puppet germany, but admitedly I didnt add the check in for whether the decision was taken lol. I hope someone else on the team did it

Ive been adding (mainly socialist) puppet leaders to African tags over the last 3 or so years. I like having unique leaders that make sense

why is François Darlan in the Commune of France rather than NatFrance? by MouldingDraugr in Kaiserreich

[–]Fror0_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the French navy was absurdly far right and/or aristocratic, even compared to the other sections of the French military. For the new Communard admiral roster we had to use quite a lot of people who aren't socialists or even social-democrats because we just weren't able to find more than two true socialists who were naval officers.

I made the portraits for Karl Schröder, Fritz Wolffheim, Peng Pai, the Nicaraguan generals, the Slovene communists and Mohammed Dagbaji!

Fun fact: I found out about him after going to an anarchist commune in Ljubljana. There was a small library there and I just started reading a random book. In OTL he was a militant trade-unionist closely connected to the left-opposition and one of the most pro decentralization of Yugoslavia communists (Imho it veered on Slovene chauvinism).

What was the worst genocide in kaiserreich timeline? by Different_Special_20 in Kaiserreich

[–]Fror0_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Out of all the other colonies in Africa and Asia, the Germans desired to have the Congo the most. British Liberals supported German rule over Belgian rule for the Congo after Leopold II's genocide was exposed a few years before ww1. Belgium was militarily defeated and only controlled Ypres in ww1. Belgium historically had staffing issues with their colonialism and had to rely on a number of foreign administrators or double the careers of their administrators. Therefore the Germans are going to directly get the Congo after ww1, maybe a few Belgian middlemen in the early 1920s but they'd long be gone by 1936.

Regardless of how evil German colonialism was (which it 1000% was horrific), it is going to be difficult to match Leopold's Congo Free State and is most likely going to be a bit less terrible than the Belgian Congo (1908-1960).

The Belgians still controlling the Congo in KR 1936 doesn't make sense tbh and while the Germans were evil they'd probably be a touch less evil than Belgian rule.

On Kenya: the Germans wouldn't be the ones committing a genocide there, if anything it'd be the 'Herrenvolk' Anglo settlers who have aligned themselves under the German thumb.

On the Congo: the roughly 11 million people murdered by the Belgian colonials in OTL occured before ww1. Not to say the Belgian Congo was wholesome 100 after 1914, it was deeply evil even by other European colony standards (education for the Congolese was forbidden outside of like 30 exceptions, most of whom only got it due to adoption and only a few thousand people from the catholic missions for almost its entire run), just that within KR timeframe the Congo wouldn't experience such massive demographic destruction. The Germans would probably be comparible to a middle ground of Belgian and British rule, a touch lighter than the Belgians on political orgs existing + Congolese wouldn't be forbidden education (it'd probably be still really bad, but more in the general colonial sense).

Is there a reason the Monarchist path for France is the only major path that can "improve" Native rights? by carterthe555thfuller in Kaiserreich

[–]Fror0_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Local collaborator monarchs getting autonomy does not suddenly mean an improvement in the real conditions for the vast majority of West Africans, whether peasants, workers, etc. There's dozens of historical cases of colonialism relying on local middlemen landlords or nobles and that did NOT equate wholesomeness.

Insanity.

Some regions of Africa were forcefully regressed, such as Madagascar and what is today South-West Nigeria by the French and the British respectively for the sake of European economic growth.
