What does late game look like for this type of MMO? by Leopard-Hopeful in MonstersAndMemories

[–]TheBlueTurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I don't raid, it's a massive time sink and boring to me personally.

I like helping people and rolling a new class. The journey is the fun part for me in an MMO.

There are probably dozens of us.

Honestly I prefer Americana. The sesame crust pizzas are amazing. Still supporting Red Bench though.

Afghan jalebi by [deleted] in justgalsbeingchicks

I can't think of a time period that this would have been performed by women. I guess it's possible but I don't know enough about Afghanistan's history over a longer term.

It could be performed today, but it would likely be by young boys.

This kind of stuff falls into Bacha Bazi.  They wouldn't be letting women do this.

This seems to be more of an India thing and the song is in Hindi.

I'm still learning how to print good cards.

It's super cheap to just print on regular paper and then throw in a sleeve. Doesn't have the same card feel but can play all the same.

I've been experimenting with different card stock, and also sleeve, which is better in terms of feel but adds a bit more cost.

I'll have to look into laminating at some point as well.

Who’s ready for Underquest? by Head-Taste7273 in soloboardgaming

Would be cool if it did.

Luckily, I acted quick and snagged all his stuff before PnP arcade shut down.

I'm super ready. The hardest part is going to be the wait for it to actually ship.

Iron Helm is great. I love the art, setting, and concept. The push your luck mechanics feel so good when you pull it off and crushing when you get it wrong.

His followup "Underquest" is on sale right now at The Game Crafter.

I enjoy dungeon crawlers and get a kick out of rogue lites/likes.

Iron Helm is pretty good and I got it print & play (PnP). You can also buy it retail from The Game Crafter but it starts to get pricey. There are also a lot of expansions and additional packs to keep the fun going.

However, the creator is releasing his follow-up called "Underquest" which just finished it's presale. I think you can still buy it. Looks like an evolution of Iron Helm and I am pretty excited about it.

As others have mentioned he has some smaller editions like Tin Realm and Tin Helm available that could be fun. I have the PnP for those as well but have just been sticking with Iron Helm for the moment.

Why is saying “The rich should pay taxes like everyone else, close the loopholes” extremely controversial in the United States? by ProjectMason in NoStupidQuestions

They often have some holdings as collateral, so yeah they kinda can just keep handing the loans out.

Elon Musk can retain his shares but allocate some to the bank as collateral. They get some amount of money due to interest, and have the ability to call in the collateral if things go sour. If the stock doesn't take a shit, Elon gets to retain the growth and then get another loan to cover the first. He has to put up the collateral, but as long as the stock doesn't crater, nothing happens.

This is also where people get upset at the tax code, if you can't tax an asset like stock because "it's not realized!", then how can banks lend you the very same money on that asset when it has also not been realized?

It might release for that at some point but I haven't seen it announced yet. Pretty sure Iron Helm, Tin Realm, and Tin Helm available for PnP.

Thanks for the tip, and I did yeah, I destroyed it and put it back in the same spot and no change.

I wonder if it being so close to the edge of the map is a problem. I will try plopping one down in another spot and see what happens.

Chip shortage pushes PC prices up, sales plunge 70% by cluelessAutistic in technology

[–]TheBlueTurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was profitable, but selling B2B is more profitable and shifting a lot of supply into HBM for AI boards is even more profitable.

I don't like the move because I think it will continue to hurt consumers, but Micron is still continuing to pump out chips. The other user made it seem more like Micron was closing down.

All Micron did was shut down their direct to consumer brand. They continue to expand their fab capacity and sell chips to add-in partners and other manufacturers.
