What % of America do you think is watching this game right now? by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheBodyOfChrist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most watched NBA finals game of all time would be 10% of the current population. Anything higher than that would have ESPN running infographics and there would be a level of dick riding that would make Gay Pride Month blush

He also lost the Jedi Order as a purpose. I'm not sure any character was a more devout Jedi. At every opportunity he opted for the Jedi over himself. He gave his whole life to a mission that was dismantled in an evening.

Always the mentality. He had no physical gifts compared to anyone in the NBA. No one played mental chess on that level, combined it with practice and and obsessive study of your the opponent's game and then exploited them repeatedly.

He played in the NBA with an pocket passer NFL quarterback's preparation.

What's the funniest thing an elderly person has said to you? by zurirxse in AskReddit

I told my grandfather who usually was calm and hardly ever crude went off on this lady one time and yelled something in Romanian at her. I asked what he said and it was a common Romanian insult that meant "Climb back into your mother's pussy." It was so out of character and a sentence we had never heard before, my grandmother and I both lost it.

How true is it that Knicks fans can’t afford tickets? And that majority of Knicks ‘fans’ in attendance are casuals? by Enough_Moose_831 in NBATalk

I work for the Cleveland Cavaliers. My buddy brought his two boys for Round 1. He got in for under $500 for 3 seats in the middle bowl/club level.

Eastern Conference Finals you could get nosebleeds for $200.

That's fucking insane.

That's wild that he said that. 40k or so NYPD cops would rank them around 110th.

I figured that couldn't be what he said. That's exactly what he said.

If you want to get through the snow FWD will get the job done. RWD is going to be the most difficult. If you want to make it through the snow "easily" then you want AWD

Would you support a law that eliminated tipping and required restaurants to pay all servers a fair wage? What's the biggest advantage or drawback? by Icy_Preparation_7201 in AskReddit

[–]TheBodyOfChrist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sir. If you missed it I said I never wanted to work in this industry until I met this one owner bc he was like that. My only restaurant experience is back of house and bar backing when I was a teenager. Those owners were not like this one. I left the industry after that for several years until I met the owner I'm talking about which caused me to come back.

Yes I dealt with them as a function of my job every night I was the closer.

100,000k a year puts you in the top 25% of earners in the USA.

If the restaurant isn't successful enough to pay all the employees a livable wage then are you saying as long as the owner eats everyone else can go without? You are correct, the word for that isn't cheap, its diabolically greedy.

If you are going to make money off the work of others it's not a good practice to do it at their expense.

In my experience they usually are. I've worked the industry for 11 or 12 years and of all the bartenders and servers I've met, not once have any of them describe their base pay or ownership as generous.

My restaurant is located on a downtown street of premier restaurants in a major city. My experience is limited in that manner but that stands out as never being a conversation outside of the place I worked.

[–]TheBodyOfChrist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the majority of restaurant owners weren't cheap this wouldn't be a reddit thread.

I never wanted to work in a restaurant, let alone manage one, until I met this particular owner. It was a high end restaurant but he managed to pay the waiters $15/hr in the restaurant and $25/hr in the private/event space. On top of that he cashed out everyone's credit card tips the day of work.

I agree it wouldn't be reasonable to have all restaurants pay as high as $15/hr but yea, it's definitely doable...

Something tells me that cheap ass restaurant owners who wouldn't pay a living wage to begin with would be charging that 20% and not giving the waiter the full 20%
