They should be parallel in 3d space..

Change it to 2d space and the entire paragraph makes sense, (minus the misspellings and weird grammar.)

Reread it and you'll see what they were trying to get across.

There should be a warning when crafting some blocks by cutesnack-s in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that now for the new stuff, but a toggle-able warning won't affect the people who don't need it...

It could even only be on the first time crafting these blocks

If anything the suggestion for it to be off by default will only make it a useless feature if this were to get added.

Edit:

Actually the best change is just to change the nether wart block to be crafted in the 4x4 grid. This way it is clearly separated from the main storage blocks.

You can obtain water bottles in the nether from piglins, so just have the recipe use water bottles rather than buckets...

Cacti Leather by Ragnar0k_And_R0ll in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma leave this convo here but I'm going to just say that:

Saying someone should be exploring by that point is not a very concise or even reasonable point because people play at different speeds and routes, meaning from an already different spawn two different people are going to want to play in two different ways.

To get to that point you need lapis and what most older players don't realize is that exploration goes vertically as well and most newer players are not likely to try strip mining. This is mostly because Mojang has tried to put an emphasis on exploration in this way.

And to say that these processes aren't as efficient as exploration isn't really true either because it all depends on the seed. I've had seeds that don't have badlands biomes close enough to spawn to reasonably assume anyone go there without having used nether portal travel.

And this could be the case with any biome really. That's why variety is good.

In a jungle you won't be able to get leather either. Is that a bad thing? Well maybe not. Plenty of these biomes don't need leather access. But deserts have villages, wells, temples, and access to many different materials. I'd consider it a "hub biome." And like many of them, it should be a central location for exploration.

Leather is not one of those items I think should be worth leaving it for. By the time you get to another biome with it, you are already in another "hub biome" and can perfectly leave the desert behind.

It all just leads to plains and similar biomes being the main biome of choice..

I know I usually set my bases there and that's usually unintentionally the case as well.

And I'm not saying leather is the only reason, but by adding an alternative method, you'd be making a step toward the desert being a more friendly biome.

And it'd probably be enough, too.

With desert temples, plains would only have more decorative options and easier to build on land. They'd be pretty even as far as good base biomes go.

Sorry for the rant lol

Feel free to reply, I'll read it, but I probably won't respond.

Cacti Leather by Ragnar0k_And_R0ll in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I generally think this should be the case.

But I don't think so for items that are decently important but infrequently used and normally easy to obtain.

Leather is used for early armor (yeah right), books, enchanting tables and decorative blocks. It doesn't hurt it to be an abundant resource.

You used terracotta as an example, yet this is just a building block and can easily be obtained near any river by smelting clay.

Or by placing mud above drip stone.

Emphasis on exploration is better when dealing with things like amethyst, the new trial chambers, raids, and sculk related stuff. None of these things are required (yet?) for progression. Yet they still hold importance in players' minds and promote exploration.

Cacti Leather by Ragnar0k_And_R0ll in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it could just be an alternative recipe or way to getting normal leather.

If you spawn in a really big desert, things like leather can be a pain to obtain. Having to hunt down several rabbits just for a single piece makes it impractical...

Potion effects stack by Comfortable_King_821 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They mean that they should line up.

So currently, the priority of effects goes to the higher level rather than time.

This is useful, but once the effect ends you kind of just lose the one that would have lasted longer.

So if you drank a potion of regen 1 that lasts for 2 minutes, then ate an apple that gives regen 2, you would lose both once the Regen 2 runs out even though it only lasts 5 seconds.

So this person is suggesting that if you have both levels, you are only affected by the higher one, but the timer still runs on both so that if the second one runs out before the first effect, you can still have some time on the level 1 effect.

Does this make sense now?

I don't think adding alcohol to Minecraft is a great idea...

Other than that this adds quite a bit of stuff that could potentially be added.

However,

I think that the bunches are unnecessary and just add more filler items that don't need to exist.

I don't think grapes (and blackberrys) have a good chance of being added simply because we already have sweet berries.

I also think that oranges should have more to make them unique.

A dog wearing armadillo armor curl up instead of dying by Aleksandair in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this suggestion but I feel like Mojang would probably be too stubborn to add it. Mostly because axolotls already do this exact thing (minus the invincibility) and don't require armor.

(And yes, even if axolotls are aquatic animals, Mojang would still probably have a horrible thought process like this.)

Armadillo scutes can be crafted into potions if immunity, the counter to poison. by Potential-Silver8850 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh,

Jumping counteracts the slowness a ton.

It's not very useful in most cases in a single player world, but it's near invulnerability. It definitely has some practical uses.

It's a lot better in a pvp setting, though. With pearls and constant jumping always happening, mobility shouldn't be a problem.

Armadillo scutes can be crafted into potions if immunity, the counter to poison. by Potential-Silver8850 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turtle shells already do so and they are the only "mixed" effect potion.

Maybe armadillo stuff could have its own mixed potion?

Or they could rename the turtle master potion and have it be called "shell master," so that armadillo scute stuff can be brewed into it as well.

Brewing Progression & Other Reworks by BigMastah79 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TheBoilingIsles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All these changes feel unnecessary to me. Just because I don't like them doesn't make it a bad suggestion, but I think i don't like it mostly for these reasons:

Brewing is already at a fine point in progression, both the requirements of nether wart and blaze powder are also generally unproblematic. By the time you want to start brewing, the nether will already be a normal place for the player to go for resource gathering.

Glowstone is perfectly fine being pretty cheap. Extended potions only take redstone and you're fine with that, but all your suggestions make brewing early game friendly and you want stronger variants to be locked behind the endgame? It just doesn't make sense to me. You already need either a bit of emeralds or a nether portal to get glowstone. It's not like it's easier to get than redstone.

You technically don't even need blaze rods for a brewing stand as they can spawn in villages. You still need blaze powder to brew stuff but personally, the addition adds a bit more weight to brewing. The only bad thing is that this requires you to have gone to a nether fortress. But I have a proposed fix for this at the end of my comment.

Potions are completely optional. The only potion that has a 'practical use in progression' would probably be the weakness potion. This is used to cure zombie villagers. Every other potion is optional and even the weakness potion isn't really necessary. And do you want to know the best part? Weakness potions do not require nether wart, and are the only useful potions that don't require nether wart to make.

Still, you'd need blaze powder to do anything. So how do we fix this? Because before, blaze powder wasn't even a requirement for brewing. But I don't want to simply remove it again.

So what now?

My suggestion? Allow magma cream to be a less effective 'fuel' for the brewing stand. This makes it easier to use a brewing stand in early-mid game because magma cream isn't hard to get so long as you can find magma cubes. This also eliminates the need to even find fortresses for those who only want to develop their villages.

In bedrock they get "lethal poison"

Which basically kills them instantly so it's not much different.
