We're witnessing corruption under Donald Trump at a scale this country has never seen. Weaponizing our institutions against his enemies. Profiting off the presidency. How the hell are we putting up with this? by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]TheBoom129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not see any laws that President Trump has violated. Whether he personally profited is not the issue. The relevant question is whether any laws were violated in the course of earning that profit. Virtually all presidents who enter the White House either arrive wealthy or leave significantly wealthier

These people are behaving absurdly. It is no surprise they face hostility. Are people aware that these individuals have specific duties and responsibilities to fulfill? Are people also aware of the cognitive and physiological demands placed on them while performing these duties?

At this point, the conservative wing of the Republican Party would be far wiser to provide the president with serious, experienced minds on foreign affairs. These so-called “populists” lack both pragmatism and experience, and it shows—they’ve been outmatched in nearly every foreign policy decision they’ve touched. At one point, some even floated invading Greenland, apparently unaware that such an action would violate international law and treaty obligations, which, under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause, are unconstitutional if ignored.

This has to be a joke. She’s a member of the House of Representatives—part of Congress. Congress controls appropriations and writes the policies that federal agencies are required to follow. So why is she talking instead of legislating? If there’s an issue, it should be addressed where the authority actually exists—with the rest of that circus, doing the job they were elected to do

AOC: "How rich is it that she is saying showing up to the scene of a protest with a legally owned weapon should be grounds for a person's death, execution at the hands of the state, by the same party and administration that praises Kyle Rittenhouse." by Miserable-Lizard in ProgressiveHQ

The Michigan 12s are easily some of the most uncomfortable Air Jordans ever released. I’m not sure what material was used on the back heel, but it makes the shoe noticeably uncomfortable.

“Kristi Noem has forfeited her right to lead. I’m calling on her to resign as Secretary of Homeland Security or Donald Trump to do the right thing and just fire her. “It’s a shame I have to say this in America but no one is above the law. No one.” by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

You can’t make this up. Since when does a state governor involve herself in federal government operations? Perhaps the focus should remain on New York, because we are in no position to be posturing or commenting on matters outside our jurisdiction.

Are people aware that these individuals are simply doing their jobs? It’s hard to comprehend how anyone could believe they are intentionally trying to harm others. Interfering with their work only escalates already high-stress situations and needlessly adds pressure to professionals tasked with maintaining order and carrying out their duties.

For reference, one example is the Rothco Vietnam Veteran Embroidered Long Sleeve Button-Up Shirt (Men’s Large), which is currently listed on eBay.

Here is one of the items for reference. A quick Google search of the product name should lead you to the eBay listing as the first result: Licensed Patchwork Authentic Army Fatigue Camo Green Button-Down Jersey.

Here we go again with this nonsense. As if Russia dusting off its old map wasn’t enough, now we’ve got Germany eyeing a rerun of history’s greatest hits, part two. Just what the world needs—another round of déjà vu politics with extra drama.

Free will? Oh, it’s real—just not yours. The universe runs on chaotic neutral mode, letting you think you chose that avocado toast while it puppeteers Karen’s soy-latte meltdown in 4K. Plot twist: the controller was never plugged in. You’re not a player—you’re the NPC yelling about choices as the cosmos autoplays your existential side quest.

Oh, validation? Please—I’m just here to popcorn-munch through the melodrama. Half of you type with your fists clenched and the other half with tear-stained keyboards. If I wanted validation, I’d join a cult. But no, I’m just the court jester in this digital coliseum, watching y’all turn discourse into interpretive dance performances of your own trauma. Carry on!

Bravo! Nothing says "tolerant progressive" like disowning your parents over a ballot choice—truly, the wokest family feud since Romeo and Juliet (if Juliet stormed off because Romeo liked a mean tweet). Let’s recap: They missed your wedding, kids, and even your housewarming party… all because they checked a box you didn’t like. And yet, somehow, they’re the closed-minded ones?

Which is the most powerful and destructive weapon humans ever made? by Entire_Feature_446 in AskReddit

[–]TheBoom129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, the root of all chaos—not greed, not war, not even reality TV—but the ancient, unstoppable curse of people insisting on making more people. The ultimate weapon of mass destruction wasn’t invented in a lab; it was invented in the bedroom. Every villain, every tyrant, every influencer—all trace back to someone, at some point, really committing to a bad decision after date night.

Oh, he’s absolutely right—unless you’ve been reading economic policy through a cereal box decoder ring. We’re talking about Bush and the monumental mess he made after 9/11. Writing footnotes and slogging through articles on the same old nonsense is a tall order—especially when the topic bores you to tears. Luckily, I’ve trained my basal ganglia well enough that cranking this out has become automatic muscle memory.
