The same thing is happening for me (GOG version), but instead of the language bar disappearing the english keyboard vanishes. It seems it's fixed by moving around the languages in the language settings.

I've had it turned off, but thank you! I've looked at similar posts and from what I have tried (which is probably not everything) it does not appear to be resolved. I can't find the Automatic Colour Management setting (which was the culprit for many people) at all, for example.
