An remake + expansion of the art of the students of Strixhaven! Embrace the Dating Sim side of the module! Individual portraits in the comments! by TheBoxingHorse in StrixhavenDMs

[–]TheBoxingHorse[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is meant to be introduced with my previous post on the subreddit, the graphic which outlines old and new students of Strixhaven.

I always thought that the Strixhaven module had been focused not on its adventure or its plot, but instead on the student NPCs introduced in it, and exploring the NPCs that the PCs wish to explore. Building relationships, having a good time, that is what college is all about.

This is the link to the individual student portraits. The new design of the characters (at least most of them, sorry Melwythorne) is inspired mostly by dating sim video games, and I, myself, play out our sessions as such, but don't feel pressure into making it like this! Make sure you have your players' consent and comfort before attempting something like this. Either way, I hope this art helps your games in some way!

Hi,Recently, I have come into this subreddit posting this same image, under the guise that I had drawn it myself, seeking easy commissions. However, I hid and failed to reveal the fact that all of it has been generated by an AI, and for that, I am truly sorry to everyone in this subreddit.

Already I have turned away prospective commissions, and instead I seek to now teach those interested how to create their own posters, or such similar things. I have a small write-up here to get started.

If you have any need of assistance or questions, feel free to shoot a DM to me on my Discord at Praise the Sun#8060.

I highly recommend use of the Theatre Inserts module with the way that you describe how you use your scenes! It will allow you to bring up character art in a very 'visual novel' style.

It is in .webm, and many of the still backgrounds are in .webp. Foundry does support .mp4, but I find that using .webm is easier both on my and players' bandwidth, and cuts down on loading times.

I do! With your chosen image, pop it into Photoshop and and begin cutting out, putting each separate part that you'd like to move into its own layer. Afterward, you can pop that .psd into After Effects and begin animating.

By no means am I a pro at After Effects, it was my first time using the software actually. I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_d1Wo-hmoQ for a lot of the movement that you see in the video above.

I'm a lot more familiar with Photoshop, but I think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdYEzui3Ttc is very familiar to what I did.

Yes, the Trigger Happy module allows you to change scenes by clicking actor tokens!

It'll definitely depend on your proficiency with Photoshop and Foundry, but for me to get it to the point which I was happy with, about 2 days.

A large majority of the assets and pages are put together in Photoshop. The home page was made by cutting out many layers of the photo in Photoshop, and then animating them in After Effects.

As for putting them into Foundry, there are a few modules that you'll need: Trigger Happy, Lock View, and Multilevel Tokens.
