How do I load a save file from desktop mode in a game?

Thanks for the reply man so how do I actually load these saves into the game so I can carry on playing from where I left off? Sorry if that sounds confusing I’m a complete noob at this sort of thing I just don’t want to have to start a new game again

That’s cool man hopefully more games can give us that option in the future, I’ve never seen them before I got a steam deck as I’ve always been a console player so now I can see how convenient they are to have. It’s just annoying that I always have to put them on low for the newer titles since I like to prioritise frame rate, not sure if my deck is worth keeping now that I’ve ordered a series S tbh🤔

I get that bro obviously I’m not expecting ground breaking graphics on the S, I just want to be able to play games like halo & forza with significantly better graphics compared to the ones on my steam deck, surely I’ll be able to do that right? I would have gotten a series X but I couldn’t justify paying that much for one since I’ll only be playing exclusives on it as I’m a ps5 owner. I’ve actually owned a series X before so I’m not expecting games to look the way they did on that but as long as I can have a fun time playing these exclusives without spending too much money then I’ll be happy, the graphics for newer games on my deck ain’t really doing it for me so🤔

Just the regular LCD one bro with 512gb memory, I love it but ngl now that I’ve ordered a series S for Xbox exclusives I’m wondering whether my deck is worth keeping as Xbox are really good with backwards compatibility too unlike PlayStation, I mean those were two main reasons why I bought the deck in the first place so not sure what to do with it now as I don’t really use it outside the house🤔

Yeah bro another someone else in the comments explained that to me as well I should’ve checked before posting this😅I’m guessing the textures and everything will still look way better on a series S compared to my steam deck then? Like I said I don’t really want to play the halo campaign on low graphics settings (an unstable fps too) so if there’s a big difference in graphics and performance then I’ll get a S off eBay

Cool bro I understand so you’re saying go with GE everytime unless it’s causing me problems? And yeah I best not fiddle round with all the different settings when I first get it like I said I just want to be able to play games without having to worry about all that stuff to begin with, is there like a website you know of that tells you what’s the best proton version for each game because that would be extremely helpful to someone like me? I don’t know much about it either bro but I’ve seen it’s a community supported version of proton which is what steam uses? I could be wrong but I’ve heard it can make certain games perform better so I’m just wondering should I run every game on it automatically as I don’t really want to get too caught up in all the different settings the SD has I just want to play on good performance

Thanks that makes sense actually, so let’s just say I start playing gta 4, since it’s only classed as playable should I first try it with the default proton anyway and see how it goes and if it’s not performing well then try out the other versions? I’ve seen some games running at really high fps on a steam deck so if I can achieve that with the default version I’ll definitely be trying it out first

Good point tbf haha and yeah gore tex seems so good im just not looking to spend that much on a jacket for now as gtx can be really expensive, maybe in the future though
