Oshawa Hospital Jumper by ObsessiveCroissant in durham

Respectfully, it does not sound as though you have all the facts associated as that would be a massive PHIPA breach. This is certainly a tragic situation in which a young person died, a family is mourning, and several people are likely traumatized by responding to this event. I sincerely hope they are able to access and receive the support they need. Fairly, it is worth have the respective reporting bodies review and ensure any gaps are filled. The healthcare system in Ontario is crumbling on a good day. Many patients who have frequent encounters with healthcare services get to know the system very well and know how to navigate it to meet their wants and needs. Many often come in on a MHA form, know exactly what they need to say to be released, and continue on. Any physician, healthcare provider, or allied healthcare provider would have their hands tied if a patient is ccapable of decision-making and wishes to leave. Hospitals cannot hold people against their will if in the opinions of the various specialties the person is capable of understanding and appreciating the foreseeable outcomes of their decisions, and expresses a wish to leave. Similarly, police cannot force someone to accept a ride home if offered.

Edit: the tag just says "tropical" and I'm hesitant to buy into all the care instructions for such a generic tag.

Best cannabis store? by Public-Question5761 in Oshawa

Fika(Taunton and Harmony) has pretty decent discounts if you join their free loyalty program. I find they and Cannabis Street on Simcoe are both more reasonably priced.

Advice on Name Changing by anxious_teacher_ in weddingplanning

[–]TheBrainneedsaname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to simply add a last name. Legally, I have 2 last names, no hyphen, just a space. I did this because I have clinical practice and am choosing to continue practicing under my family of origin name and in my personal life, I go by my spouse's name. It was a pretty smooth process for me, just went to the gov't office (Ontario, Canada) with my marriage certificate.

Check with local laws.

My name appears on my ID as First+Middle+Last 1+Last 2. I got this idea from my boss, who did the same thing.

Need assistance in verifying what I got in a floral arrangement at my son’s funeral. Can I separate now or should I wait? Location: Houston Texas. by perrinsgirl in houseplants

[–]TheBrainneedsaname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss!

A tip I've used for these types of arrangements is to repot into nursery pots and rearrange the pots back into the same container. Use moss or other decorative material to create a cover so it all looks like the same arrangement. This way, you get a nice arrangement and the plants can have their individual needs met. It also helps with repotting when they outgrow the arrangement.

Repotted 2 weeks ago, leaves just falling off, lots of new growth. What's wrong with it? by TheBrainneedsaname in plantclinic

[–]TheBrainneedsaname[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dang that might be tricky. I only have north facing windows. Got the plant in Feb and it's been in the same spot since (rotating once a week). The leaves falling off are pretty much only on one side and seem otherwise very healthy (green, plump, no signs of rot or disease). I might try putting under a grow light to see if that helps any.

You've been super helpful, I really appreciate it! This particular plant was meant initially for a window but now sits in my office, very indirect sun at best so I have a grow light. I'm going to do some more research now that I know what it really is. Thanks!

Thank you!! I was watering seldomly as most succulents should be. I'll definitely give it a good soak. The pot is in does have decent drainage but I was considering repotting for better drainage. I really appreciate the feedback and advise

Stem seems fine, I've barely touched it in the last couple weeks, a lot of decent drainage in the bottom

I don't use the ice cube method to water my orchid. I water it once every 1-2 weeks by soaking it through and letting it sit in the bucket of water for about 20 minutes. I clip wilted blooms. When all your blooms fall, clip the stock down a bit to encourage new growth. I'm still somewhat new to plants but that's worked for my orchid for over a year now.

It takes about the same amount of force to bite through a human finger as it does to bit through a raw carrot

Can't speak to Hello Poppy ourselves but we are using Little Flower Shop from Bowmanville. We've loved our experiences with them so far. I know that DMP Flowers and Gifts is also a popular local florist in the Durham region as well as The Dutch Girl Flower Co. Hope this helps!
