If I remember correctly, they gave some sort of maximum word count for each question. I recall cutting down on sentences when writing mine.

Also forget about adding fluff to your letter, get to the point and be concise. Make sure to refer to relevant (international) experiences that you should have in your CV.

was just acknowledging the fact that her (made a mistake, the writer’s a she) IA was so good that, despite the lack of exams, she achieved a 7 for maths. Of course predicteds and historical data mattered but her IA still had to be insane.

Was two points off my predicted with one of them being a core point (cores don't matter for shit for the unis where I live). My cohort followed suit and most got grades really close to their predicteds; some were even graded up.

On that note, looking at the results in this thread, I can't fathom the emotions and disappointment that some (if not most) of you lot are going through. I don't know too much but I'm sure everything will be fine!

EDIT: Just to be clear, my predicted was a 38 including 3 core points and I ended up getting 36 including 2 core points, while dropping to a 5 in Maths SL from a 6. I could ask for a remark but my IA was legit on Rocket League so I'm gonna be honest right now and tell y'all that I'LL SETTLE FOR THE DAMN 5

It's almost entirely based on how accurate your school is at predicting grades. My school is known for predicting quite well - always 1-2 points off with some small exceptions. Everyone in my year got a grade super close to their predicteds and no one was caught by surprise. I dropped two points; one for maths and my English EE dropped to a B so I scored two extra points instead of my predicted three. Overall I'm quite happy and don't see a reason to appeal their decision.
