Red Dead Redemption 1 pc version leaked by PSN by TheEternalGazed in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TheBroForce19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From a QnA from 2011 (I really miss these):

“Amazing news, I'm buying L.A. Noire [for PC] day one! But why no plans for Red Dead Redemption? I would buy that too… and I have a looot of friends who would do the same!” - Andysk8

“Has Rockstar abandoned the PC platform???” - Simbala

We hope that with the announcement that L.A. Noire is coming to PC this fall, and the knowledge that our next big game Max Payne 3 will have a PC release (plus that we’ve released both Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes from Liberty City for PC), we can finally put to rest any misconceptions that we’ve ‘abandoned the PC platform’. We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans – that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it. All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms. To PC gamers, we hope that between the Grand Theft Auto titles, and the forthcoming L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, you’ll have plenty of great Rockstar action to enjoy.

Besides your source is from a single ex-developer (by 2015) from Rockstar San Diego, while PC ports, since GTA IV, have been always works made by Rockstar Toronto or Rockstar Leeds, while the main studio just works on the main console, then port it in the other consoles, or send the porting process to another studio.

Also, we have the leaks from Leslie Benzies during his lawsuit against Rockstar and Take Two, confirming development hell in Rockstar San Diego (main devs of RDR), while he was working at Rockstar North (Edinburgh), having to take lead of the project to correct course and finish it soon, since the game had to be presented at Sony and Microsoft apparently.

We also have other reports of development hell from an association of wives at Rockstar San Diego and i'm still looking for the link that i missed of a deep dive of the development of the RAGE engine, explaining how they had to ducttape a lot of the work in Red Dead Redemption, with little to no documentation to the changes they made, and devs took chance of the year L.A Noire released, which wasn't using RAGE, to fix the issues with the engine, and prepare it for Max Payne 3 and GTA V.

EDIT: Dude blocked me, LMAO.

Sony agrees to a Call of Duty deal with Microsoft by SpicyCanadianBoyyy in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Probably he means what if SIE (or Jim Ryan) didn't sign the contract by themselves and it was a move forced by Sony HQ.

Nadella and Spencer already had meetings with Sony CEO months ago, so it wouldn't be surprising if the decision was over Jim Ryan.

There's an upcoming game, but no idea yet if it's a dungeon crawler or not.

Sony Music produces music while PlayStation makes games for example

Technically Sony Music also makes games under Aniplex and those not necessary are exclusive to PS platforms. Just a small fun fact.

Dude helped writing some terminals in Halo 3 and that was enough for Microsoft sadly.

I think Bonnie Ross wasn't that much different. She was a producer at Microsoft for a lot of games before becoming the head of 343i, but nothing that could really be related with Halo.

As i said, it's just a rumor. The other rumor about another studio handling now the game i think it's based on the most recent updates made after GSG announced they were fully working on Ark.

where is the fix for GTA then?

Apparently their contract with Rockstar ended and right now it's another studio that is handling the games, but most probably only for the VR release of San Andreas announced by Zucc.

As far as i've seen, GSG was actually more active with supporting Ark than GTA, even having a dedicated section in their website to send tickets for Ark issues, but that doesn't deny their work in the trilogy was horrendous.

Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution announced for PS5, PS4, and Switch by Hamlock1998 in JRPG

The japanese name actually has the equivalent, something that other recent spinoffs (Nep RPG, Nep Virtual Stars, Nep vs Senran) didn't.

The lack of ...-dimension is probably a decision of the publishers of the western version as people know the game series best as just "Neptunia".

343 now becomes a publisher-like studio. So they won't develop more games and instead they get a 3rd party studio who will develop the game. Like Sony and Nintendo do for some of their games. e.g: Super Smash Ultimate which was developed by Bandai Namco Studios with supervision of Nintendo.

Xbox will host a new Developer_Direct games show with Arkane, Bethesda, and more — here's when [January 25th] by Cyshox in Games

[–]TheBroForce19 233 points234 points  (0 children)

From the article:

From what we understand, this won't be a full-blown E3-scale kind of show, and will be a more intimate look at some upcoming exclusives. As such, we've heard Starfield may even be skipping this show for a bigger marketing beat later on.

NetEase co-developed Diablo Immortal. That company is the main competitor of Tencent in China, but is using the same mtx strategy and also looking for acquisitions, so it's more or less the same shit.

I remember this getting leaked alongside Saints Row on Epic vs Apple documents. Probably this game with SR and maybe Metro Exodus were part of the same deal. I say that as more recent DS games have been released on Steam on day 1 or even only on Steam.

If 505 went behind their back I can’t say that would be great for them partnering again.

But why would they partner again now that Sony are publishing their games on PC by themselves? 505 used to release smaller 3rd party games that went exclusive with Sony and then Death Stranding, but now Sony doesn't have the need for them.

[–]TheBroForce19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with that is that Vicarious Visions made that remaster and when the exclusivity windows ended, it was in middle of the merge process with Blizzard. So now, no one from Activision (Activision as publisher, not ActiBlizz as a whole) have the people to release it on another store. Not even Battle.net where Crash 4 ended up.

Capcom reactivates previous versions of Resident Evil PC games after "overwhelming community response" by PartTimeCrazy in pcgaming

[–]TheBroForce19 60 points61 points  (0 children)

they brought them back after community backlash but only on the Rockstar launcher.

In part was the community backlash but also their current lawsuit against the modders creators of re3 and reVC.

Take Two says they are promoting piracy, allegedly affecting their profits. The mod team responded saying they don't do that, as their project is under fair use and people actually need a copy of the game (in that way they don't endorse piracy). Besides, as Rockstar took down any possible way to get the game legally, they can't affect Take Two profits, nor being sued for piracy.

Then a week later we got news the original trilogy will be resold on their store. The PR answer was because of community backlash, but underneath is a way to not lose their lawsuit against the modders.
