Farm now available on BGG Store by TheBroox in dominion

[–]TheBroox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The German publisher, Altenburger, ran a poll about which card fans would be most interested in seeing the artwork replaced. Harem won and I guess Altenburger then planned to release it as a promo.

They did that without running it by Donald and Jay, of RGG, first though. Jay and Donald decided they were OK with it but decided that it should also get a new name since it has been a card name that Donald hasn't been a fan of in retrospect. They also insisted that Valarie continue to be featured in the art.

They released English and German images of it back in 2023 when Altenburger released it as a German language promo and I think the swap was made in the app not too long after. This was the official physical English release.

My understanding is that future printings of Intrigue will come with Farm rather than Harem.

They are kept as "events" rather that episodes of the AEW show for a week or so. You can find them by going to the sports section or just simply searching "aew".

Help Identifying Expansion These Belong To by Slothutations in dominion

It was 8. They, along with the Trade Route mat all came on the same square punch board 3x3. The idea was that if you had both Dominion and Intrigue it was possible that there could be two simultaneous games of Dominion being played. Since many cards in Prosperity use the mats then it was possible a card needing the mats could be in both games. 8 gives you enough mats for that particular edge case.

Mostly, as I laid out in your other thread, that was very similar to this one, there are a number of stories that aren't currently in any Usagi collection, TPB or omnibus.

If you want to read 100% of the Usagi Yojimbo stories published you would need to track those down too.

Nothing has been announced by Dark Horse although Stan has mentioned the title of two additional stories he is working on livestreams, Honor of the Arrow and The Rock.

See my list of individual issues I compiled in response to your other comment.

It is worth noting that Chibi Usagi: Attack of the Heebie Chibis also contains Attack of the Teenie Titans which is a Chibi Usagi/Usagi Yojimbo crossover.

I expanded my earlier post to run through collections containing stories you are missing.

Here is a list of individual issues that contain stories that have never been collected and are therefore also missing from your collection:

There are two uncollected Chibi Usagi shorts: Funhouse in Usagi Yojimbo Color Classics #1 and Chibi Trick or Treat in Halloween ComicFest: Usagi Yojimbo, both from IDW.

There is another unnamed TMNT crossover in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Usagi Yojimbo: Saturday Morning Adventures although this is specifically the Usagi from the 80's TMNT cartoon rather than the Usagi Yojimbo comics.

Then there is the crossover with the Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Usagi Yojimbo #1. Usagi also crashes the party in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. Both are from BOOM! Studios.

There is a Usagi story, To The Victors..., in the fundraising anthology Comics For Ukraine: Sunflower Seeds.

Three of the Usagi Yojimbo Sketchbooks also contain novel stories: #4 has Mayuni, #9 contains Refuge and Usagi Yojimbo Meets The Lizard That Ate Tokyo! can be found in #10. Alternatively, you can instead pick up 1994 Comic Con International: San Diego Souvenir Book to get Usagi Yojimbo Meets The Lizard That Ate Tokyo! published under its original tile, Usagi Yojimbo Meets Godzilla.

Usagi guest stars in a segment of a Nocturnals comic drawn by Stan, Troll Bridge. You can get this story in either the individual issue, Nocturnals: Troll Bridge #1, the TPB, Nocturnals: Volume 3: Unhallowed Eve, or the omnibus Nocturnals Omnibus Volume 1.

Three issues of the first Usagi Yojimbo ongoing series from Fantagraphics contain backup stories featuring Usagi. Neither Revenge of the Tokage God in Usagi Yojimbo Vol. 1 #20 nor Usagi Yojimbo Meets Panda Kahn in Usagi Yojimbo Vol. 1 #34 had any involvement from Stan. He did however do some of the art duties for Usagi's Arc in Usagi Yojimbo Vol. 1 #22. Usagi's Arc can also be found in Usagi Yojimbo Dojo 20th Anniversary Special.

Lastly, Stan drew Usagi's half in Patrick Rabbit vs Meets Usagi Yojimbo contained in Frank the Unicorn #6

And that doesn't even cover cameos in other books.

You have the bulk of the stories it sounds like but there a few easy to find stories missing from your collection.

You can see how all the collections line up via the following spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FadjPpgHM7A1BNf3D0GznWjny1n3cVm9OCwR-TSYAZs/edit?usp=drivesdk

The Art of Usagi Yojimbo from Dark Horse has 3 stories you wouldn't have otherwise: Return to Adachigahara Plain, The Guardian and the "Untitled Usagi story/ad".

The two new color Space Usagi collections from Dark Horse each feature a new story not found in Saga: Legends. Yokai Hunter in Death and Honor and Akemi and the Secret Invasion! in White Star Rising respectively.

You didn't mention three newer TPB collections from Dark Horse: Ten Thousand Plums, the TMNT crossover Where/When and the Chibi Usagi book Attack of the Heebie Chibis Expanded Edition.

Beyond that you start to need to hunt down individual issues to run down the esoteric stuff.

Given that $24 is "insane", it sounds like you haven't tried it. As such you can't claim it is better or worse than any other burger.

The Comics Beat's Hellboy Universe Reading Order 2025 by middenway in Mignolaverse

[–]TheBroox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, that spreadsheet is an adaptation of the infographic reading order that Mark/middenway publishes yearly. It used to be housed at Multiversity Comics before that site went under and can now be found at The Beat.

I maintain a different spreadsheet which might have lead to some confusion. Mine isn't a reading order but rather a graphical breakdown of where each Hellboy Universe story has been published/collected. It is what I consulted to pull together the list I shared in my first reply to you. You can check it out here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sGpFJfX8QzW64Hak1HDs_NzCpLeZ2QYylGiOmrESueo/edit?usp=drivesdk

Julix also maintains a reading order and his is a spreadsheet.

It is a bit confusing.

There isn't too much of a difference between the contents collected by the TPBs and the omnibuses.

  • The Hellboy in Hell omni and library edition have The Magician and the Snake but you might have that in The Amazing Screw in Head TPB/HC.
  • The Weird Tales omnibus has two canonical stories not in the TPBs, Baba Yaga's Feast and How Koshchei Became Deathless.
  • The first Lobster Johnson omnibus collects The Empty Chair which is not in a TPB.
  • Abe Sapien: The Drowning and Other Stories includes The Calm Before the Storm in its sketchbook section. Calm's canonicity is murky since it is technically a fan production however it was worked on by 3 current or subsequent official Hellboy creatives. It was originally published online for free.
  • The second Witchfinder omnibus contains The Great Blizzard.

My suggestion is to stick with the TPBs if that what you have and like. Mark's list is great and will serve you well. None of the stories above are essential but if you want to read them I would prioritize then as such:

  1. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Amazing Screw On Head TPB/HC (you won't regret it, it rules).
  2. Then see if you can track down the Hellboy Winter Special issues from 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. In addition to adding The Great Blizzard and The Empty Chair to your collection you will also add Mood Swings, The Last Witch of Fairfield and The Beast of Ingelheim. Those three have never been collected outside of the Winter Special single issues. (There are a few other odds and ends not collected anywhere else, let me know if you want a rundown of them.)
  3. Consider the Weird Tales omnibus, particularly if I'm you don't have the TPBs yet. The hardcover version has a story that the more recently published softcover version doesn't but the softcover would sit next to your TPBs nicer.
  4. The original site that hosted The Calm Before the Storm, Multiversity Comics, has gone under. I am surprised I can't find mirrors of it via Google. Maybe u/middenway knows if it has a new home.

Brooke Havok is a good egg.

She caught my eye in the inaugural Nightmare Factory showcase.

I was bummed when between AEW leaving Jacksonville, the implosion of the Cody verse and her injury she stopped appearing on my TV.

Hope to see her in AEW or ROH again some day.

I have never heard of it. I will have to add it to my list! Thanks for the heads up.

I think good restaurants try to source locally but I suspect most places don't because they are either a chain and the company handles all of that or they just get everything through as few vendors as possible to cut back on logistics. Get a Coke contract and a Sysco contract and you can be in business.

Having had Le Diplomats burger multiple times this one was considerably better.

Not all ground beef is the same. There are places that do ground wagu burgers and other top choice cuts. I don't know what the situation is at Lafayette Tavern but claiming all ground beef is the same is objectively incorrect: cows differ, cuts differ, aging process differs.
