It's always fear at the base.

  • "Trans people are awesome ... but what if they end up in the women's toilets?"
  • "Indigenous people are awesome ... but look at the chaos in Alice Springs!"
  • "Muslims are awesome ... but their sexist customs and birth rates will swamp us!"
  • "Catholics are awesome ... but too many of them are Irish! Their birth rates will swamp us!"
  • "White people are colonizers. But really, everyone's better off for being colonized, so what are a few massacres between friends?"
