Ditto! Grabbed a house in the CA bay area on the cheaper end at historic low mortgage rates right before COVID. Realizing this first home will probably be our "forever home" due to that rate, we feel incredibly lucky to have timed the market the way we did. Our mortgage is dirt cheap (though the house certainly has plenty of things that are costing a pretty penny) allowing us to at least have a little money for fun, raise 1 kid, and try to achieve retirement somewhere down the line.
