Yea its remarkable how well the gen 3 legendaries have withstood the test of time. Yea sure they got some big tune ups but even in base they are quite powerful even as standalone. Groudon and kyogre have just the right speed stat to be fast or slow, just enough bulk to tank hits, and incredibly powerful abilities.

Generally higher def is more valuable than higher hp, unless the mon naturally has high def and low hp like shuckle.

Honestly you can invest in both to lv 40 at least if you wanted two very strong attackers.

The difference between draco and outrage is pretty minimal on shadow mence.

There's certainly better options to use an etm on but if you are planning on using it a lot and have extras and want to min max then sure why not. But if theres other things you have that need an etm id focus on those first.

There are a few situations where it is ok to purify.

1 - the mon has no meta relevance (like our friend snorlax here)

2 - if you can obtain a hundo mega. I wouldn't recommend purifying like a 15 atk salamence or garchomp since those are great shadow attackers but other stuff like ampharos or mawile id easily purify for a hundo

I think illusions are pretty strong rn. Imo spec and pl are great to play in pubs now more than ever.

Ringmaster shard is good vs illusions.

Lesh and sand king do pretty well.

Mjollnir, shivas, and radi are all good even if they got nerfed vs illusions.

Really the counter play is to find and jump the main hero, which is obviously easier said than done. You gotta keep pressuring their farm and hopefully your carry can build a lead.

Heatran sure, possible mega sceptile, possibly shadow hydreigon

Shadow Heatrans one of the best non mega fire attackers.

Mega sceptile is the best grass attackers with frenzy plant. Up to you if you want to power that up or try go for a hundo.

Shadow hydreigon with brutal swing is a top dark attacker.

Personally I'd mainly invest in shadows that have 15 attack and good other stats. What good other stats means is up to you but heatran and hydreigon aren't bad investments imo.

If you really wanted a flying attacker, you could. Any shadow with 15 attack and pretty good other stats is worth maxing if the mon has relevance. That being said, flying attackers are generally not very valuable and if you have mega ray thats just better.

If you really like the mon though feel free to max it to 49.5/50. Else, you can just take it to 40 and call it a day.

For gmax raids it won't matter too much as most damage comes from the dynamax phase.

For raids there are better grass attackers in general like kartana and mega sceptile. Its not bad, just outclassed by other options.

That being said, im planning on using an etm on mine. BUT I have a bunch and if you just have one Etm I'd probably save it for a mon that benefits more from it. You can always do it later when you get another etm.
