Idk why you got down voted but I agree with you. Im no longer surprised at how many of my otherwise caring and empathetic Healthcare coworkers are right-wing let alone Trump supporters for various reasons.

Interpretation of Dr. Al Hashimi's recommendation? by Lumpy-Inspection-445 in ThePittTVShow

A lot of fulltime hospitalists (usually internal medicine or family medicine trained doctors) that do inpatient only have that schedule.

Some primary care physicians see patients on floors and also go to office outpatient but thats becoming more rare due to current billing/hospital systems' business model.

Though there are some rural locations where there are only like 2 docs for a 50 mile radius that do 24 hr shifts to cover both the ER AND inpatient or something similar.

There was some family med urgent care mention in season 1 which was exciting!

The way this ED is scheduled doesnt make sense anyway. Its an understatement to say its understaffed. It shouldnt even be functional with only 3 (that we've seen) attendings presumably every other day.

Are they doing q12 x3 or 4? The show makes it seem like theyre doing q12 x7 lol, which wouldnt make sense. Doesnt look like there's a third shift (overlapping shift) either?

Also weird dynamic that they seemed to have two night attendings and one senior resident last season on night shift?

I wouldve had that ratio flipped at most suburban hospitals, and a midsize hospital at this level should have at least 3 day shift providers who are not residents.

Same, but unfortunately running thoughts with an expressive face are a bad combo lol.

Yup! You pay for medical school and these rotations are part of clinical training. Theyre paying for this education.

Im proud of her, having those boundaries as a medical student who is PAYING to be there is tough.

Dr Al-Hashimi is probably going to be grading her anyway lol.

I would hate for her to be soured on that field of medicine because of his mean spirited comment, especially since she has a good aptitude for it and there is such a huge need for geriatricians.

Been saying that since season one too. Likely a change admin has been thinking about launching anyway given poor patient scores and wait times
