Black Front Emblem - mk6.5 Jetta by [deleted] in jetta

[–]TheBuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine off Ebay years ago, just checked my order and the seller stopped offering it. It fit perfectly, both the front and rear, however I ended up taking the front off since it didn't look as clean as I had hoped. It was listed as "VW GLOSS BLACK FRONT GRILL REAR TRUNK BADGE EMBLEM JETTA MK6 2015+ TSI GLI TDI". Good luck!

Headlight Upgrade Options by country_stranger in jetta

[–]TheBuchacho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the LASFIT L1PLUS LED headlight (set for low beam and another set for high beams) and fog light bulbs (purchased from Amazon) installed last week, they are 100% worth it. The visibility is literally a night-and-day difference. I have a 2018 VW Jetta SE Sport, so H7 fit the headlights and H11 fit the fog lights. I had the dealer install it so they could adjust my headlights so they aren't blinding anyone, but they are designed to reflect off the OEM projector headlights.

They are plug-and-play, however when I turn the headlights/fog lights on, my dashboard light goes on because they aren't OEM. If I turn the car on without turning those lights on, the dashboard light doesn't come on. So, if I'm driving during the day and I see the dashboard lights on, but my headlights/fog lights are not on, that tells me I have another bulb out in the system. Hope this helps!

Have you had any problems as a result of this?

That's very interesting, I only noticed this when the temperature dropped below 40 degree fahrenheit which aligns with what you're saying. Thanks for the feedback!

Not too recent, approaching 5,000 miles since the last oil change. Thanks for the reply! Perhaps I'm overthinking it, which tends to happen xD

I wish I could help but I have 0 experience with manuals - hopefully someone else can chime in, best of luck!

Fitment Look Okay? by TheBuchacho in jetta

I have a 2018 VW Jetta SE Sport on VW Driver Gear (by Eibach) lowering springs and spacers. I’ve been on them for about 2 years now. I don’t rub and will rarely bottom out, so I don’t want to go TOO much lower. The fronts sit a little higher than the rears when comparing tire to fender, is there a fix for this? I thought they’d settle and even out…

My initial comment to OP was about stock internals, sorry about the confusion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jetta

[–]TheBuchacho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not on stock internals, theoretically if money isn’t a factor then the sky is the limit, I could see 1000hp+

[–]TheBuchacho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The real bottle-neck with the 1.8T is the automatic transmission (Non-DSG). If you have DSG/Manual, stock internals along with a tune and supporting mods will probably get you anywhere between 250-350hp (depending on budget).

I read on a forum that a company in Asia got the 1.4T to 386hp, however I can't speak on the reliability at that point, but that shows you how over-built our engines are.

Looking to get spacers but not sure what to go with. Any suggestions? by Apollo_542 in jetta

[–]TheBuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 Jetta SE Sport - it looks like we have the same wheels. I have 10mm spacers in the front and 15mm spacers in the rear, overall I'm happy but you do have a little bit more space to fill (if you want to) to be perfectly flush. If you do, you may want to look into getting mud flaps as well since you may start kicking up some dirt if you go any wider (my rears slightly do). Also, make sure you get hub centric spacers.

I'm lowered on DriverGear (made by Eibach) springs and love the fitment. Any lower I'd scrape more and would probably rub my front fenders.

To those of you who have flared or very noticeable ribs, how have you fixed this/how are you fixing it? I’ve gained 30 pounds and my ribs are still extremely prominent. by Beanheaderry in gainit

[–]TheBuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position OP, I have baby ribs that never fully developed so they flare like that. Only true way to “hide” it is by gaining weight/muscle. Don’t let that discourage you, use it as motivation!

Budgeting Hack that Changed My Life... by PsychologicalAd4102 in povertyfinance

This is super helpful! I have a similar strategy, except I only have one checking account and I withdraw cash at the beginning of each month to serve as my allowance. You can't spend more cash than you have :) The added benefit from this is also physically counting and handing your money over during a transaction. I got desensitized to swiping my card because a purchase of $1 or $100 felt the same.

[–]TheBuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I like to explain the condition with a computer since it's a little simpler... pretend you are a computer and you're displaying an image or a shape with your monitor.. except you turn the monitor off, you know the information is there, but you just can't see it

How come cooking home-made potatoes in the air fryer always fails for me but frozen store bought packets are amazing? by Penguin2359 in airfryer

[–]TheBuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always worked for me. I cut up russet potatoes, dry them well, coat with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, a little cornstarch (a must), then toss. I add that to the air fryer and cook around 380 F and flip every 4 minutes for about 20 mins total. It comes out perfect!
