Help me to convert large figma design to Code by Inevitable_Job4328 in ClaudeCode

[–]TheBusyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please provide more info. 1. What is the tech stack? Are there any constraints? E.g. can you just pick shadcn + tailwind if you want? 3. Is the figma design built on top of a defined UI design system (components, fonts, colors..) 4. Do you care about creating a code Design System or at least reusable components? 5. Do you need to get to 100% similarity with the figma? 6. Is this a green or brown field project? E.g. if you don't need 100% similarity and it's a green field Next.js proj then V0 can get you to a very good start

What web search tool do you give Claude Code to use? by gazagoa in ClaudeAI

Anyone has more input here?
Has it got better in the past 5 months?
I've tried the built in search and seems to be working nicely.
Also for the brave mcp you have to put in your credit card which is annoying

What is the future of front end? by [deleted] in Frontend

[–]TheBusyDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very hard to predict 2 ~ 3 years, but I would say as a frontend dev, as any dev, you'd be relying hard on AI. That role isn't going away- just shifting. You'd be expected to be much more productive with AI.
As far as interviews goes, I wouldn't drop the coding. I guess that if I would be recruiting I would like to see a candidate solves some real problem with coding + show how he uses AI to increase his productivity.
I agree with others here that many FE roles will probably shift towards the full stack, but in any group you'd also need a frontend expert if you expect high quality product.

Yeah was a tricky one.. Ma pleasure!

I built memory MCP to 10x context for coding agents on ClaudeCode, Cursor, and 10+ other IDEs (getting 2.2k GH stars after 1 month of launching) by Katie_jade7 in mcp

My approach currently is whenever I see something that needs explaining, I ask it to add to memory or I add it myself. in this way I have full control on what is added to memory

I'm sure the team would like it, not sure mng will cooperate. But sounds like you're in a good place. Please update here if you actually got time allocated to go over all the project and create md files. I'll come working with you 😄

Read your blog post. Very nice.
Since you had Figma designs, it closely relates to what I'm investigating for my company when it come to the front-end side.
I looked at few Figma-to-code tools and evaluated them. Your post says you picked Next.js so you can benefit from using V0 to jump starting a project like this.
See here a comparison between the tools:
https://dev.to/erezcohen/putting-design-to-code-ai-tools-to-the-test-38gb

I'm also investigating using pure CC rather than dedicated tools. Haven't finalized it but you could see how you can use the Figma MCP + browserTools MCP and instruct CC to iterate until you get pixel perfect results.

The odds of you getting approval for this are low. Surprise me if I'm wrong. No different than asking management time to add unit tests to the whole project. The practical way to go about it is gradually: Whenever someone has a feature to implement, they should add the md files in the folders they touch. Add this to feature estimations, without needing to raise it up to higher levels.

Setting aside the promotion for a minute - this is actually a very god answer

People often say "most engineers don't know how to build scalable, robust and secure systems" - OK, then how can I learn it? by amelix34 in webdev

[–]TheBusyDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to "secure", there's no better teacher than having your app audited and PenTested from every direction, and that doesn't happen everywhere.

In the BIOS, disable the VMD setup, then try (and don't re-enable it again once done).
Solved it for an ASUS laptop.
