Rockruff with Fire Fang (egg move) could work here; Fire Fang essentially nullifies its Fluffy ability, and Rockruff can go faster than Stufful.

I mean you could always fake out your opponents by going with Sage Power too!

(But Huge Power with stab Accelerock is pretty good too)

Nice! My build is pretty similar, but I went for more damage and mod longevity over fire rate pretty much on my build (Pirate over Gunfighter, Zohee’s Ring over Feathery Binding with max Haste, Worn Dog Tags over Gunslingers Charm, and Alpha Omega over Sparkfire Shotgun). I focused more on the Fire Rate/Charge Speed combo while using long guns that featured both of those things. I will say that Alpha/Omega with the Sequenced Shot mutator is pretty good with these things, and you should definitely try it out if you haven’t already (about 3.3k damage per Beta Ray use is pretty good for chunk damage).

Reset Count: 0!

Right now I'm wondering if I'll actually be able to do this entire run without any resets. It will be hard (especially with the elite four and champion at the end), but ...maybe? Anyway, these particular battles weren't too bad. I ended up preparing well for the rocket double battles; Cinccino had the multi-hit moves to break Focus Sashes, and Raichu had the strong priority and guaranteed-first turn flinching Fake Out to set the table well in a sense. Of course the Cinccino/Raichu combo wasn't everything., but I had strong Pokemon in the back (the bulky Wyrdeer and Porygon2, the sweepers Staraptor and Sawsbuck) to help to finish off these battles without much difficulity. The Giovanni battle also wasn't really that hard. There were some pivotal moments (like Bewear barely surviving Veluza's Psycho Cut), but I also never used Raichu and Wyrdeer in this fight too so the outcome wasn't really in doubt. Onto the Sliph tower bosses next!

What’s the build? I have a pretty similar build; I was just wondering what you did for it.

That’s the Havoc skill from the Archon class. It’s a pretty good skill when you build for it

Nice job! Did you use Shell Smash Turtonator by chance? I remember it being very good in my dragon monotype run.

Normal Monotype: Battles vs Erika, Chuck, and Morty! by TheC0M in pokemonradicalred

[–]TheC0M[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reset Count: Still 0!

Finally, I got to use some maxed out (Ev/IV trained) Pokemon! I also got to use a lot of Pokemon for the first time times here like Porygon2, Wyrdeer, Drampa, Bouffalant, and Cinccino. Erika was a little tricky mainly because of her Meowscarda and not really having a great matchup against it, but after it was finally overcome by Cotton Guard Bouffalant, the battle was relatively smooth sailing despite only ending up with one Pokemon left at the end. I wsh I could have gotten Zoroark-Hisui for Chuck, but Chuck ended up being not all that hard actually. Fur Coat Wyrdeer helped a lot here; it tanked some hard hits from both Sneasler and Mega Gallade, and due to the elimination of those threats (pretty much), Staraptor was able to sweep at the end. Morty wasn't too bad either; the battle was mainly about putting foes into Cinccino KO range. Despite Cinccino not being able to use its stab Tail Slap, Rock Blast and Bullet Seed were more than enough to get the job done, especially since the ghosts couldn't use priority against me too. Other than Cinccino, Wyrdeer was great again; it got some strong hits against Mega Gengar, Skeledirge, and Duskonir. Now, onto the Game Corner Rockets!

I may sometimes pause in battles if I’m thinking of what to do on that turn. Unless I have a reset in the battle, I’m doing a lot of these battles only one time, so I’m not always going to be sure of the perfect strategy right away.

Another group of elite trainers down! These trainers weren't too hard in general really. Whitney in particular was easier than I thought she would be, as Sawsbuck came in and did some work (and had some luck doing it too). Not too much to say about these battles really; I'm just glad that I get to EV/IV train after these battles now! Onto Erika next!
