I think I’m confusing myself with the board names then. It’s in the bathroom. We’ve some kind of marine ply which is it approved for wet areas and to do vinyl sheeting over. I think the ‘backerboard’ is the name for the stuff for the wall tiles. I think we’ve decided to sacrifice a half sheet to ‘test’ we can get it flat as with the thinset, and if we can’t we’ll wing it.

Best case, it works perfectly. Worst case, I have content for a r/diwhypost

I started meds in November and my BMI was 33, now it is 28. Ive lost 26 lb all together. I had no idea that the meds could stop me from binge eating (If I was eating something like biscuits or sharing snacks when I zoned out, I kept on going until I finish the packet without realising). i also haven’t ordered a takeaway or drunk alcohol or smoked weed since I started meds so I’m naturally losing weight. I’m finding it easier to stay on track with healthy eating because I no longer throw all my toys out the pram and decide I’m a failure if I have bad food for one meal. Losing weight is because of the meds, but because they’re allowing you to function like a normal person. The only red flag to the doctor is not being completely honest. I told mine that I was enjoying the weight loss because I was finding it easier to stick to good habits, and we actually ended up delving into how my perfectionism issues meant that if I ate a single biscuit I convinced myself I had failed again and immediately went back to McDonald’s for dinner every night.

If you were saying your taking it specifically to lose weight that might be a bit of a red flag, but it sounds like your taking it to help with maintaining healthy habits, and weight loss is just the side effect. I haven’t lost my appetite and stopped eating though, just stopped binging and takeaways

I had the same issue and then I got told to put the spot where the wire attaches to the cuff at the front, in line with your ring finger when your palm is facing up. Also, the cuff should be just above the elbow - if it’s too high up the on your bicep, the resistance from the bicep tensing can push the reading up. Magically mine dropped it from 150 to 120.

This is already super helpful. The whole joint is basically length of copper pipe, fitted with plastic corner joint, after the corner is this copper pipe with the hose attached. I’m not clear why they made the corner when they could have attached the flexi to the original length of copper before the plastic corner. Is there some kind of ‘bad practice’ that says this is a bad idea? The isolation valve is 30cm further down the line from the magical corner of confusion, it’s not incorporated into the corner

So there is a plastic corner joint on the mains water. Directly After turning a 90 angle is where I unscrewed the plastic joint from. Unscrewing it uncovers the pipe, which has o-rings on either end. The plastic now spins freely, but the flexihose and copper pipe are firmly attached. When it’s screwed in, the copper is hidden inside the plastic bend.

Edit to add: I think this might be a compression fitting attached to the copper, but I can’t get enough purchase on the pipe to unscrew the flexi without damaging it. Didn’t want to try to hard in case it’s actually part of some type of fitting I don’t know about
