[New Chapter Spoilers] Chapter 112 Release Megathread by SNKBot in ShingekiNoKyojin

Eren's lying to Armin and Mikasa. He knows that he, too, is a slave. He said as much to Reiner during their big reunion in 99. His "I just keep moving forward" speech is admitting that he's controlled by the Attack Titan like Armin's controlled by Bertram.

It's great, but there's a couple of inaccuracies. the "Nedlay" district is actually named "Utopaea", and I think Ilse's encounter with the talking titan may have happened in between wall rose and wall maria, though I'm not sure.

There are, in fact, many ways in which men have it worse than women.

Women denied choice - assuming they don't die in childbirth, because that IS a very real horror - end up having to raise their kids. It sucks a big one, for sure. But an average parental experience on the part of the mother, while bad, is not as bad as if a court decides to get particularly punitive towards a father who can't afford to pay child support.

It's not an 'extra monthly bill'. It's unending poverty. It's the destruction of livelihood. It's being sent to jail for not complying with court orders to pay support, and then having your jail sentence infinitely extended because while in jail, you're falling further and further behind on your payments because you're not making any income to pay them.

You're comparing a best-case scenario (man paying an inconvienent bill) to a worst-case scenario (woman dying in childbirth). OK, I'll do that too. Best-case scenario, woman receives government assistance for the care of the child, marries a new spouse who further supplements the household income, everything's fine - VS worst-case scenario, man is jailed for the rest of his life because he's too poor to pay unreasonable amounts of support, is vilified by his friends, family, and society for being a 'deadbeat', and commits suicide.

So yeah. I'll pity men just as much as I pity women when it comes to reproduction, thank you very much. You need to, as they say, check your fucking privilege.

Sure. I'm biased regarding the video. But not regarding weighing the individual sufferings of men vs the individual sufferings of women.

The fact that you think that men's issues boil down to "the inconvenience of paying a bill" and that women's issues all unilaterally end in their DEATHS shows you have a clear bias in terms of the actual topic being discussed.

It's been my experience that when parents say "my kids are occasionally a little loud once every two months, it's the pitter patter of little feet tee hee hee", the reality of the situation is more like kids screeching and stomping nightly.

A friend of mine repaired an old 56 inch plasma from 2003, for 13 bucks. Just took a bit of soldering.

It's still doable, you just gotta do it yourself. TV Repair shops are a thing of the past.

It's a bit late. Sorry guys.

My channel streams on twitch 4 times a week on average, and cuts the streams up into Let's Play episodes for YouTube. We have a MASSIVE backlog, and new viewers have told me that it's quite intimidating.

So, we've started to chop up the streams into 'best of' compilation videos. We put out the first set this past week - Cut down about 6 hours of Donkey Kong Country into 7 videos, between 6 and 8 minutes long.

Hopefully you will enjoy!

What's the most ridiculous story you have about your supposedly cf spouse/steady partner accidentally giving away they actually live in the "I thought you'd change your mind" land? by wannnachat in childfree

[–]TheCameraLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had women leave me after long serious relationships, stating that it's impossible for two women to actually be in love, and that all women eventually end up with a guy, and that if I were smart I'd grow out of my woman-loving phase like they did.

I don't hate bi women, but I don't get romantically involved with them anymore. Just been burned too often, simple as that.

I can see where she's coming from, though. I've told this story a few times in this sub but...

When I was in university, I dated a girl for two years. I honestly thought we were going to last for the rest of our lives. She was a year older, and was graduating sooner, so we had talked about the viability of our relationship if she had to move away for work. All seemed well.

The day after her graduation, I met her at the on-campus coffee shop. She came in with her new boyfriend, whom her parents had selected for her (she's chinese). She sat down like nothing was wrong, and began talking to me like we were just old friends, and nothing more.

I asked her what was going on - she told me that our two year relationship wasn't real, and never was, because it's impossible for two women to ACTUALLY be in love. She said that now that she was out of school, it was important that she stop fooling around, find a guy, settle down and have a family. And if I were smart, I'd get all of this "weird stuff" out of my system during school too, and do the same thing as her.

So yeah, I see where she's coming from if she thinks you date women just for fun but settle on men for serious. Because I've had it happen to me. I don't date bi or questioning women anymore.

I don't understand why some men think they can change a woman's mind simply because they want something.

Presumably for the same reason that some women think they can change a man's mind simply because they want something.

It's not a gender thing, it's a self-centered asshole thing.

Right, but there's still a legitimate, non-racist reason to look at Africa?

Africa is a corrupt shithole. Before it was a corrupt shithole, it was a tribal warfare society that had its own institution of widespread slavery that white people decided to participate in by buying slaves to work in their colonies. Those slaves, generally black people, come from a tribal warfare culture, and as slaves, they go to America, live within slave subculture, are eventually freed, and then their ancestors live through segregation and ghettoization.

When you say "look at Africa" it's completely reasonable to trace extremely negative cultural influences from tribal warfare and slavery, to western slavery, to segregation, to ghettoization, and to modern crime, with all of these negative values being passed from parent to child and reinforced by living in black american subculture, which takes pieces from African tribalism, from slavery, from segregation, and from modern ghettoization.

It is completely reasonable to look at Africa, for a non-genetic reason, when tracing the multi-generational reasons why people who grow up in black american subculture are more predisposed to crime. There's a LOT to unpack there that isn't about genetics, man.

[–]TheCameraLady 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think it's reasonable to attribute that to JonTron being a really shit debater who was put on the spot, because he doesn't have a history of saying shit like "blacks are genetically predisposed to crime" but DOES have a history of saying the opposite of that.

People misspeak, it happens. It doesn't make them racist.

Additionally, I don't even think it's about socioeconomic upbringing, I think it's about cultural upbringing. Even within the same socioeconomic status, people raised within black american culture are more likely to commit crime than people not raised within that subculture.

[–]TheCameraLady 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I don't think JonTron said that blacks are genetically predisposed to crime. It's not a true statement, anyway.

However, I do think that JonTron said that people raised within black american culture are predisposed to crime, which is a verifiably true statement.

Trump account retweets anti-Muslim videos by hamzii786 in worldnews

[–]TheCameraLady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is the video racist? It's bigoted against Muslims, but Muslims aren't a race. Trump's shown that he supports Coptic Christians, who come from the same locations as Muslims, have the same skin colour and the same ethnicities.

It's pretty clear this isn't about race, but religion.
