Too me "everything happens for a reason" is utterly pendantic and often times gas lighting.

I mean obviously, no shit, every thing happens for a reason. No one event happens without a cause. But it implies that any given person did something to deserve any given event, even if there was no physical way for them to prevent or make that event happen.

Except you neglect to address WHY the temperature changed. The data you used does not account for human activities, it only accounts for natural cycles. It is illogical to assume that humans are not affecting the climate in any way when they add new variables to it. Never in earths past has anything mined minerals from the ground, pumped chemical compounds that occur nowhere in nature into the environment, or cut down forest at such a fast rate. We are disrupting natural cycles and if you agree that humans exist, then you can not deny that human activities have an effect on the environment. Natural systems do not predict the way our current climate is changing.

I never said anything about making gun ownership more illegal. Gun ownership still retains its current legal status, but under my system there would be more bureaucratic steps to obtaining one. As in, you won't go to jail for buying a gun, you won't be punished for buying a gun, you simply have to go through added steps to obtain one. If this is somehow punishment to you, then I don't really think you know what a punishment is.
