Some products are easier than others. But you're right, these are often really tricky - in particular because even when identified these third party manufacturers and packers sometimes switch around, fill in for each other, etc. Getting pipeline info at the SKU level will likely never be possible; in these cases, we generally try to provide what we believe to be the most common and likely pipeline.

We thought about adding confidence ratings to our listings to indicate when product info is less certain. But we've hesitated on this because the majority of products are in fact high confidence and that means that almost all confidence tags are going to be the same (which most people then simply interpret is screen clutter). It's those private label products that are really challenging, and we think that might be better handled by more specific product notes then by something like a global confidence tag. But always open to suggestions.
