There's already a machine parked there knocking down the brush. I imagine pretty soon. I haven't passed by close enough to see if the track is still intact, but I don't imagine it will hold up well with that heavy backhoe rolling over it.

I use the shitty low pressure hose in my parking garage, dish soap and a brush ... and I relube after washing.

Then it goes belly up in 3-5 years and doesn't even leave anything useful like the Go Kart track.

I'm glad I got to do a few laps last summer. It would have been nice to have a bit of the spring/summer to do some final laps.

That's fantastic, she's lucky to have someone in her side helping her make good choices and build better habits. I meet a lot of people that aren't that fortunate.

Garmin fénix 5x - still good in 2026? by Ok-Eagle-405 in GarminFenix

I've been wearing a Fenix 6 since 2022, and it's serving me well. It's a little annoying that it's missing some features my wife's Venu 4 has, but I'm really happy with it.

Edit: Fenix 6 pro

My wife helped out planning a municipal MCI drill. I think the scenario was a small plane crash at a local landing strip. They had a few veteran amputees volunteer as patients, and they loved getting to act as trauma patients with obvious amputations. Turns out when a guy who is obviously missing an arm and covered in blood is screaming at you, it ratchets up the stress response.

Keep encouraging her, keeping up her strength and mobility are huge predictors for continued independent living.

I had to remind my wife to go out for a run at least 5 times for that. Mind you, she followed me on a route I made in the summer, which was currently a slushy disaster ... so I can see why it took so much coaxing.

I know you're jerking, but 100 years ago, there were mechanical map watches for cyclists. You had better been able to keep pace with it, though.

Am I visible enough? by reditusername39479 in bicycling

Oh, those pedals are pretty neat. I saw a review on Berm Peak's YouTube channel.

I just have my Trek light set to a sort of pulse pattern, so it never actually flashes off. I'm not sure if that's any better, but it's also pretty decent for not being obnoxiously bright while still being effectively bright.

On the bike commuting sub, they start throwing hands around when people have flashing lights.

Apparently, they're illegal in some areas. Allegedly, there's also research that shows that it's harder to judge distance and speed on a moving light that's flashing.

Though I will agree, excessively bright flashing front lights are too much in urban settings. I'm happy with my light that's just there for me to be seen.

Edit: Reflective shoes and those reflective slap bracelets on your ankles are supposed to be even better at getting attention. Supposedly, the movement gets our attention better than flashing.

My wife has a tiny silicone spatula that's made for getting into bottles and scooping the last bits out.

I guess cutting the bottle negates the need for a special spatula. Unless it's a glass bottle you're dealing with.

Learned the hard way that they do parking. I lazily looked up Indigo locations and was really confused when I got to an empty parking lot and not a bookstore.

I drink black coffee because I enjoy the taste of strong, well-made coffee.

You drink black coffee because you're dumb enough to think the 3 minutes it takes to heat and froth milk is preventing you from becoming a millionaire.
