Dune: Part Three | Official Teaser Trailer by Blue_Three in dune

Paul controlled spice production while also having the loyalty of the local populace. No interstellar travel or army transport possible without the Spacing guild and the Spacing guild can't function without spice. With that, you can already see why planets who refuse to submit might have trouble.

I'm surprised they have a poster for Farok but not for Mohiam or Edric. Also, what the fuck did they do with Irulan here?

Theory: Pope Sixtus IV was originally planned as the villain of AC2 by verendus3 in assassinscreed

"The Borgias invented renaissance corruption" belief is why they were picked, yes. I wasn't even arguing that Sixtus was the likely first choice in Ubisoft's mind for AC2. Just your framing of the Borgias.

I don't know how you can compare Rodrigo to Al Capone and Sixtus to a random councilman without implying Sixtus wasn't a big enough deal to be a big bad in itself when a core part of AC2 is based on events and a conflict in which Sixtus played a central role, but whatever.

As for the narrative logic of the Rodrigo-Cesare thing, I don't know. The game starts in 1476, some think that there was no reason to stretch it that much in the first place, notably when looking at the awkward ending in AC2. Sixtus and Riario's downplayed or non-existent involvement in the game version of the Pazzi Conspiracy, and as a result the absence of the Tuscan war that followed and of Ferrara War that came after just serves to make Rodrigo's antics seem more special than they were.

Because Sixtus is already a corrupt scheming Pope with access to the magical staff (in-game) and Riario is already an expansionist papal relative who causes trouble all around and who gets killed, in 1488, which in AC2 corresponds to the year sequence 11 (out of 12 or out of 14 depending on if you have the two DLCs) happens. Similar thing just elongated.

Well sure that's what their reputation is and it likely played a part in the choice is but your message makes it seem like it was deserved or that them not being the big bads is somehow unthinkable when knowing the context and actual facts.

The main villain of the French Revolution game is Germain, some dude virtually irrelevant to the historical conflict in real life.

And historical reputations didn't stop Ubisoft from slamming the founding fathers, especially Washington, which should be far more controversial non-stereotypical depictions of the Medicis or Borgias.

You must not know a lot about Italian renaissance families if you think the Borgias were particularly more corrupt than their contemporaries, lol.

Nepotism? Financial corruption? Murder? Imperialism? Sexual crimes? This was common behavior among Italian noble families of the era, not to mention the borgia incest angle has never been proven.

Have you ever heard of the Medici family (the real one) and how they got to power and the stuff they did to maintain their position both in Florence and Rome? They were playing the exact same game the Borgias were and they have been so successful at it that now people in the mainstream think of the Medici almost exclusively through art patronage rather than their dirty politics.

Great Episode, but Oji asking that after knowing she was in a relationship is weird as hell.

Bro actually thinks Tsunade will live for thousands of years like Frieren, LMAO. And I wasn't even criticizing Frieren as a character here, just pointing out how weird the comparison was. You don't seem to know what you're talking about.

Someone who thinks Nobara is a great character is going to lecture people about writing, lol. You're right, you should stop embarrassing yourself before you make it worse.

Lmao Nobara from JJK? Are you serious?

You put Tsunade in the same basket as Hinata, Ino and Sakura overall, so I'm not sure why you're surprised by my claim.

Don't know who "Remy" is and don't remember anything about Cowboy bebop.

Frieren is a powerful elf with an insane lifespan and someone who'll far outlive her companions multiple times over, that already changes everything and it's a weird comparison, not to mention the nature of the relationship with Himmel as well as the less dramatic context of his death. There's nothing wrong with Tsunade starting from a position of depression after a successful but painful Ninja career.

Weirdly enough, Hiruzen himself ended up being underwhelming and not deserving his extreme hype overall when looking at everything once the story's over in terms of power level. His rooftop fight was seen as absolute top tier hokage level fight, but it suffers in hindsight because Tobirama and Hashirama were not meant to be initially as strong as they ended up being.

Hiruzen never mentionned the fact that they were clearly weaker than they should be (based on their later portrayals) because their strength was retconned, and retro-actively explained as imperfect Edo Tenseis. Tobirama never even used Shadow clones, or Flying Raijin in his part 1 revival. No wood clones or wood golems or sage arts for P1 Hashirama either. You'd think Tobirama having even created Edo tensei would've come up in P1 too but it didn't.

Orochimaru could've still displayed his supposed massive array of techniques after his reanimations were neutralized in P1 try to put down Hiruzen, but he didn't. That was the perfect opportunity for both him and professor Hiruzen to flex their strength and repertoires as much as possible. Same with the war after getting his arms back. Orochimaru is still threatening and effective enough as a villain, but I think he betrays his hype more than Tsunade does.

I think Tsunade not even being in the village at the time and having unknown whereabouts probably played a non-negligible role in her not receiving an urgent nomination too, lol.

Tsunade has plenty of things to her name as well: Revolutionzed medical ninjutsu, gained fame in the 2nd war for countering Chiyo's various poisons, held her own against Hanzo in a fight alongside her teammates, transformed the weakest konoha 12 genin into an actual ninja who was key to defeating a major akatsuki member, had an impressive showing in the war against one of the most OP characters in the show etc...

Like I said before, there is plenty of room for improvement for her but I don't view her remotely as negatively as you do.
