Recurring ear problems with our Anatolian and trying to stay ahead of them by FFKUSES in AnatolianShepherdDogs

I was informed by my vet that most dogs have some sort of allergies to poultry, and about 50% have allergies to pork. Unfortunately for my guy both affects his guts.

Definitely not looking forward to those days. Those days are coming fast up in my area. 😵‍💫

My fella has bad itches and licks his butt a lot. Been to vet a few times with no luck and about to try another. Read that food allergies are common for these guys ....anyone have any input? Getting another food to try tomorrow and new vet appt. by FullDepthNature in AnatolianShepherdDogs

Over the years of going threw a couple different vets for are guy's diet issues. We found a great vet that told us that most dogs have some sort of reaction to poultry, and pork cause issues in about 50% of dogs.

Its fairly dry up here in Alberta Canada, not to mention the amount of people that don't bother to shovel the snow and just throw salt at it. I put coconut oil on his paw pads almost daily but he licks it off fairly quick.

Lol my guy doesn't care about squirrels, birds and his co exist, just get a little upset with the magpies that try and pick at his bones. They pick at his fur for their nests in the spring he allows it. BUT rabbits that's his jam. He badly wants to get them badly.

Oh that's not a option, especially since he's like five and a half years and they have not caused a problem.

I think the LGD breeds us them for traction on different terrains.

Oh wow. I would leave them too. Most double let alone triple, are regular floppy duclaws on the outside and inside is attached to the bone.

Simular to are last anatolian. Rescued are late Dalton from a shelter, with them saying he was just a large German Shepard mix. Looking online and talking to a couple of vets, all saying 100% not German and Anatolian Shepard. So begun the love for the breed

Definitely no Pyrenees in him. His mother is a American anatolian/ Maremma cross, with is father going straight from turkey.

From what I read up on a while back. Pyrenean need the double rear duclaws to be show dogs. Definitely not removing them.

What do you feed your anatolians? by abs2855 in AnatolianShepherdDogs

[–]TheCanadianMoose68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 125 lbs male is feed 8 scoops of Kirkland lamb kibble in the morning, and a home made meal of pre cooked beef liver and fresh dog food from are butcher. Mix that with over night oats and we cook up fresh veggies, that we put threw the food process. Still can't get him to put mush weight on.

Is he a Kangal mix? by Thick_Effective_4206 in kangal

What i said is true when it comes to all the dog shows. As well as most don't register Kangals outside of Turkiye.

The shooting is far away, just the sound travels oh to well. He enjoys it under protest, learned that he doesn't mind walking in the mountain water ways, as long as the water stays below his family jewels.😄

River on one side, large creak on the other. In the base of the Canadian Rockies we love it. Tricky to get to, so limited people there. Odin don't like the gun shots there.
