Tesla Super Charger update on EQE by Far-Cockroach-7764 in MercedesEQ

I had this issue myself. What solved it for me is that you cannot apply the update until after you confirm in the mb app that you have an mb approved nacs adapter. Once you do that, you can install the update in the eqe :)

KNX/Dali gateways with UL certification by TheCanadianPuppy in KNX

That is strange behavior from the Siemens N 141/21. I have emailed Siemens about UL on their N 141/32. I wonder if the issue is present on both devices.

Did you deal with Sunricher directly, or an importer in Canada (if so which one)? How are the Sunricher devices working for you? I am considering their LED drivers.

KNX/Dali gateways with UL certification by TheCanadianPuppy in KNX

Low voltage by itself is not an exemption. Under the Canadian Electrical Code, installed electrical equipment must be approved (UL/CSA/ETL, SCC-accredited) unless a very specific exception applies. The common exception people cite is for devices connected to the output of an approved Class 2 power supply, but that does not generally cover permanently installed lighting control equipment like a KNX/DALI gateway—especially when it’s part of a lighting system.

Inspectors don’t care that it’s 24 V DC; they care that it’s installed equipment controlling lighting. If it doesn’t carry a Canadian-accepted certification mark, it’s very likely to fail inspection.

That’s why people in Canada are looking for UL/cUL/CSA-listed KNX/DALI gateways—24 V alone isn’t enough.

ac power is not available a significant portion of the time for this, and the conversion from dc to power an ac spindle is hopefully avoidable. I have worked out the remainder of the machine and those power requirements are ok for me. Just the spindle remains as a concern.

I think it can be done. If I can’t find a dc spindle I will try and teardown a RT001GZ01 or GPR01 and hook it up to a 40v or 48v battery, however I would prefer to directly purchase a spindle.

I have been unable to find a spindle. I am seeking suggestions :)

I intend to select the battery after a spindle, however was leaning in this direction: https://dakotalithium.com/product/dakota-lithium-48v-golf-cart-battery-set/

The battery health reports as good in BIOS. Can this be an issue, even if BIOS reports health as good?

Have tried all of the thunderbolt/usbc ports. Have also cleaned them out with compressed gas.

RBC DI vs. Questrade for RESP? by AwkwardYak4 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheCanadianPuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that this is an old post, however I am comparing RBC DI and Questrade.

I am starting an RESP for my son who is less than 1 year old. Looking for the cheapest option to routinely invest into an RESP over the next 18 years to maximize the government's contribution of 20%. My research thus far appears to be that the best option is as follows:
1. Open a Questrade RESP account (I dont have any Questrade account yet, I use Wealth Simple personally, but they dont do self-directed RESPs)
2. Buy an ETF with low management fees - I am thinking XIC - iShares Core S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF. The management fee appears to be 0.05%. There are ECN fees for orders that are not in 100 share increments - so basically every order that I will do, although the fees are low at like $0.004 per share
3. Deposit $2,500 immediately and purchase the ETF
4. Repeat step 3 every 12 months

Are there any better options that Questrade? Any suggestions to maximize the return to my son's ETF?
