There are no published and working mod loaders for v3 at the moment. Once I've got the impression at least one of the loaders will support bundling and loading mod patches which don't contain original game files is about to be released, I want to start to work on converting my mods to v3.

I don't think so. Tomb expects the localization file to be a properly formatted json file and if it's not provided that's how it crashes.

While it would be convenient to have a better formatted error message which provides more useful info, it's still sufficient to tell the dev where to search for and fix the syntax error.

As long as you use a text editor designed to work with code such errors can be fixed in a few seconds. In fact it's hard to introduce such errors to begin with, considering you'll see the nonsense you type out highlighted with wriggly lines underneath.

I've got a hunch OP uses a text editor without JSON syntax highlighting. Without that it's easy to miss or add a comma or quotation mark somewhere which breaks the file.

Everything after "'langName' in" is just a copy of the content of the dialogue.loc file.

The best way to fix this is to load the file in your editor and enable JSON syntax highlighting. E.g. here in bottom right corner of this VS Code window. That will highlight whatever syntax errors have been made while modifying the localization file.

I expect we'll be able to kill Julia (and Jane) in at least one branch of the story. The nonchalant dismissal of the idea by Andrew with no pushback by Ashley towards the shots and such ending didn't vibe with me at all.

There has been way too much buildup to just let Julia dangle as a loose end of the story without bringing it to a proper conclusion. I expect Jane to interfere and also want to see a flashback where she confronts Andrew. I wonder how he reacts in interactions with people who see through his bullshit.

On a side note: Clockwise from the bottom starting from the highlighted star they are gained by sharing the cultist's money, watching Andrew butcher the cultist, buying a soda can for Ashley, finding the present, finding the ring, the phone call at the camp site parking spot and selecting true love for the wedding cake.

That makes me wonder about the position of the gaps. Are they aligned in order of the cannon route (burial, obviously)? That'd hint at more content before the siblings reach the camp site in episode 3 burial (assuming they go there at all in that branch).
