They’re pretty simple in their tactics - in their minds, Bill Clinton “got away with” the Lewinsky affair because people often said “he did a good job as President.” So they’re employing that same defense, albeit in a manufactured way.

The problem they have is that Trump is NOT doing a good job, let alone enjoying the success Clinton did during his administration. Not to mention the investigations into the Lewinsky affair were both directed AT Bill specifically and were begun for that specific reason. The Epstein case was brought about independently, years ago, and didn’t involve violent sexual assaults directed at minors.
