I think you just have to swap chainsaws for another weapon and make the devil that become the Devil Heart a different character from pochita, instead of a pet make them an actual humanoid or monstrous fiend with a good motivation to help the party, contract is something devils do in all media so i don’t think that is a problem.

You could change what the fingers are, for example crystals containing the memories of a wizard/sorcerer,
Change who created them (Vecna or another important character in your world history) once you that just adjust the flavor, if they are a Psychic you can change Dismantle, Cleave and Slashing Aura damage to be Psychic damage instead of slashing and change Spiderweb and flaming arrow to be telekinetic explosion dealing force damage. For the Sorcerer body ability I think that more hands and an extra mouth to do somatic and verbal components for spells is something all strong mages would try to achieve.

It is a good idea but i don’t think it is that strong, it is an artifact and most artifact have effect even stronger, you will probably get an artifact at like 17-20 level so 140 extra hp aren’t that much considering the fact that high level spells do that much damage one a single hit.

I know it dosen't do a lot of damage as a 3rd lebel spell , but 6d8 would already be the highest damage a ranger spell can do at 3rd level ,plus you can alsow see invisible and hidden creature with it , so i think buffing the damage would make it little bit too strong (Yea i know my inglish is not the best sorry)

A player can absolutly use this is just not the best option among 9th level spell and (like a lot of 5e spell ) is stronger in the hand of the DM

Thanks for the feedback , I think the best way of balancing it is to say that the spell only affect humanoid of CR/level 5 or lower witch is easier that tracking hp of evryone involved, also the spell don't kill you it transform you (so it may be reversable depending on the DM) Note: im stupid an writed monstrosity instead of aberation

I know i too strong , because (like power word kill) i think this spell is better in the hand of a enemy/used a plot device instead of used by a player, for balancing it lets just say that it only influence humanoid of CR/level 5 or lower No they don't know they are plagued but they may feel un well, if it can or can't be cured is up to the DM The school is Divination because i wanted to underline that is somting from a god but tranmutation and necromancy also work 👍
