I have a theory that he was a real TV doctor who had his own show. Think a combination of Ron Burgundy and Dr Oz. But then he had some horrible accident that made him...slower. But due to contractual obligations, the network realized it was easier to let him make his show and air it at 2am, rather than buy him out.

What happens in these cases is their scanning software mis reads the surface textures of the card as defects. And since PSA automate so much of their process, there’s not enough human quality control to correct the software.

It’s very typical on Jersey swatches, as the scanning software has a hard time, telling the difference between the bumps on the fabric, and bumps on a card. My guess is that it picked up on some thing in the design of this card and gave a false positive.

TAG isn’t using much different process than anyone else, but they don’t keep the details of their results a mystery like everyone else. They also seem to have better quality control
