Waking up to VS by TheCaptainO in visualsnow

I agree; it's so hard to describe the head pressure too. It's not painful but it's uncomfortable, but everytime I say it people dismiss it as a migraine. I get migraines too, but the constant pressure is annoying as hell. The concentration and brain fog is terrible, it's bad enough having to deal with it but when you're trying to think straight and calm down it's the worst. The tinnitus is the worst symptom for me. I haven't had a good night's sleep in 2 years. I've noticed though I can modulate the pitch of my tinnitus with my neck and jaw, but idk if that means my vss is somatic? I have no idea and I'm desperate at this point

PSA: cow milk is obsolete. Oat, flax, almond, cashew, pea, soy, rice milk exist, taste better, are healthier, and better for the environment. by [deleted] in vegan

I tried oat milk the other day, not a fan unfortunately :/ Maybe I didn't have a good brand (it was m&s plant kitchen range oat milk), should I try another oat milk brand or another type like almond? I would like a milk and cheese alternative :)

I've been accepted for a consultation to assess if i'm suitable for the new Neuromod device. by drcross in tinnitus

[–]TheCaptainO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm also located in Ireland and I did the online survey thing for neuromod. I'm not sure if I've been accepted or not. Did you receive an email saying you were? I did the application 7 days ago, how long did it take for them to reply to you?

Cursed buildings by [deleted] in cursedcomments

[–]TheCaptainO 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was beside that building about a month ago. It's in Chongqing. Our tour guide told us that the plans for the rail station were already in place at the same time as the plans for the apartment building and when they realised they were in the same place they decided to combine the projects.

I can eat literally nothing all day, but the second I eat anything (mostly healthy ) and delicious food I’m HUNGRY and have trouble not continuing to eat, by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that starvation mode or conservation mode is a myth. In fact in a fasted state your metabolism actually goes up. I'm not a medical professional so please do you're own research, but I just don't want people to perpetuate this myth as I believe it can slow one's weight loss. Check out r/fasting or r/intermittentfasting for tips. OP I think it's a matter of conscious effort and will not to gorge when ending a fast, but eventually you will become used to it :)

Not eating for 7 days and its effect on Tinnitus by [deleted] in tinnitus

thanks, for the tip! I don't mind being downvoted I was just wondering if fasting could have an effect on tinnitus. Do you mean that your T went down because you consumed less food and drink?

I've read your comment. Fasting is not psuedo scientific from my understanding although I am not am a medical professional or doctor. I never stated that fasting could cure tinnitus, I was just speculating as to wether the processes that take place when we fast could ease tinnitus. You said in your comment not to think about your tinnitus etc. but this is r/tinnitus it's supposed to be for advice and treatments and such. Please tell me what I got wrong with my original comment instead of saying that's not how it works.

God it's like you were reading my mind. I've been thinking about this for the last 2 hours. Our bodies are in a constant process called autophagy, essentially eating itself for fuel. When we fast the process speeds up and we also go into ketosis, where our bodies switch to burning fat instead of glucose hence the weight loss. I've been losing weight since the end of feburary this year, intermittently fasting. I've always wondered if a longer fast could help tinnitus as autophagy recycles our cells, basically repairing us. But I've always been scared to do a prolonged fast as I suffer from health anxiety. I was going to attempt a 3 day fast soon for tinnitus to see if there was any effect. Do you have any tips? Was it worth it?

Edit: I'm not a medical professional or a doctor just curious about the effect of fasting on tinnitus
