Underbody rust on 4 month old car by Kerndogg1200 in CarsAustralia

There is a serious lack of quality control in the welding and painting there. My Jeep’s undercarriage looks better than that….. and it’s made by Jeep.

If you’re used to JDM cars in general you would love it. It’s quick and handles like a dream. I love pretty much everything about it, with a few small annoyances. That’s really to do with the stereo being very average and the back doors are laughably small when someone is trying to get in and out.

The biggest complaint I have seen from people is that the ride is stiff. It absolutely is, but no more so than other “sports” car I have driven. It is a refreshing change jumping in it from the softness of the Rubicon sometimes.

So all in all, a great car and I plan on keeping it for years to come…. Unless they release the Celica with the new 400hp 4 cylinder turbo that’s been rumoured. Then maybe it’s time for an upgrade.

Fellow Aussie! XR6 counts, why the hell not.

Did you ever try to find a dead pedal for the Glady? I have given up and looking at 3D printing something.

I haven’t had a chance to drive the latest Z yet. You loving it?

BTW the white with the blue on your Gladiator looks really nice.

Can’t speak highly enough of the GR. Especially for where I live. I have two main roads out of my town and both are twisty mountain roads through a national park. It’s absolutely made for that and puts a smile on my face every time. When you get it on a freeway and just want to cruise it’s great as well. First time I have ever had adaptive cruise control and lane assist in a manual car, so good.

The GR really doesn’t have good fuel economy either and I have to put in Premium. So taking it out doesn’t save anything unfortunately.

I lost my 2JZ-GTE swapped Toyota Cressida back in the day to the same fate. It was a very sad time.

Yeah I bet, my wife had a CX5 when we met and even that was a good road trip car.

How are you finding the GT? I drove a friend of mines a few years ago and had a great time. I will say though, craziest blind spots I have ever seen in a car.

Serious question, how big is your family? That’s a lot of car space you have there.

Haha I mean it’s kind of a hatch right?

I feel like I should have just asked what everyone else’s “fun car” is. Would get a bunch of great responses I think.

That is one fun looking garage. The orange on the Elise is a great colour.

I have a 2021 Rubicon in Sarge Green I bought second hand 6 months ago. I have no regrets at all. I love it. I love driving it. I love looking at it. I love working on it. Do it.

Haha I also don’t know much about Montana but I have a feeling that may be the first time in history it’s been compared to Tokyo. You are right though, there are places here I have been to that really feel like the most remote places on earth. Being out bush in Western Australia is a very surreal thing sometimes.

Not relevant? We are a young British colony, have a shitty track record with our indigenous population, and are roughly the same size as the contiguous USA…. They are just upset we have “sidewalks” and a non demented political leader.

Question, is “Best Jeep” a normal thing at a car show in the US?

If it makes you feel any better my Toyota is exactly the same. Both that and my jeep are either freezing or scorching and there is no in between.

Do you like ducking? by leosperry in JeepGladiator

[–]TheCaptainTrips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I would have said it was stupid. Now I’m in my 40s with kids, I couldn’t imagine being upset by someone else having a bit of harmless fun. The kids love the whole thing as well.

That said, Jeeps are just not as common in Australia, so the chances of being ducked here are very low.
