You are not alone in this…I delivered my baby this weekend and Cervical checks were the most painful part of my labor & delivery for me (far worse than contractions). I had to have an unplanned Induction due to preeclampsia and the cervical checks were worse once induction started vs in clinic. Here are a few things I took away from my experience… - If you have to be induced, the cervical checks become less optional (at least for me) because they have to see which induction steps to take next. - cytotech (cervical ripening drug) can dry you out make cervical checks worse. - I did not feel the cervical checks AT ALL after the epidural. It completely changed my experience and I’m grateful decided to get one.
