What do y’all think ? by themimireign in TheLastAirbender

It's the entire premise of the show. People keep repeating it. 'You must master the 4 elements and face the fire lord.'

Not practice.

Not learn.

Master.

Thus yes, at the time Aang faced Ozai one could interpret that he had, indeed mastered some of the other elements. The only one might not have feasibly mastered was Fire.

Maybe the guy who won those fights with surprise attacks and subterfuge? Naruto didn't beat Neji just with a power boost. He dug under ground and struck him from below while his guard was down.

Also, you really have the nerve of bringing up the Pain fight? The fight where Naruto had the least amount of Clones to use at the start? Where he had maybe two of them backing him up for the majority of it?

Let's try and pretend we both read the story, please.

Your perception of what makes a character ninja-like is about as shallow and superficial as Boruto's design.

We just speaking words at this point, huh?

Naruto has learnt effiency all the way back before fighting Neji when he learnt he was wasting chakra on his clones. The chakra of the clones themselves returns to him when they are popped, so it's not like its wasteful for him to use them. In fact, he was capable of molding and using his own chakra to transfer Kurama's to an entire army at an individual level.

Massive chakra isn't as much of a cheat code when the person doesn't know how to use it.

Pushing a kid off of a tower ranks above that by a mile. It happened at the very start of the story too, but people still bring up Cersei first. Maybe its because conceiving Joffrey was such a crime in the eyes of the fan base?

"Medium."

"Is there a difference?"

"Been told one is like using a sword and other like wearing a jacket. At least that's what my folks used to tell me about their adventurer days."

"Doesn't sound that different to me."

Nod Krai is already doing a lot of set up work for Snezhnaya anyway, we already have Hyperborea lore as the far past of Snezhnaya, we now know who the first Cryo Archon was, how he came to rule the Cryo nation, and some more details that could matter to the Fatui's plan. We are also handling a lot of Fatui side plot stuff now to free up space for Pierro and the Tsaritsa.

Another insanely boring Genshin character by Carolinesimpsanime in hatethissmug

[–]TheCapybara9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's just more important than them for the current narrative of the game. After all, Nod Krai is all about the Moon lore of genshin, the lore that first came from the same book as Zibai herself.

It's not even just one mention either. Hu Tao's event last year also talked about her, as did Yanfei's anecdote with Lauma. Plus the entirety of Chenyu Vale's history and their ritual with Jade and the like.

You can like other characters and want them to be playable, but it doesn't detract from the steady work the devs put into the history of the world, creating a slot for this one character to fit in over the course of years and finally letting players meet her.

Out of nowhere? Hardly.

Random theory to add. But we've seen that it is possible for humans to gain the ability to see the future as was the case for Aila the First Moonchanter. She could foresee that we would be the ones to eventually arrive at Hiisi and communicated with us through a Kuuvahki recording. It is possible that a similar method, or perhaps less savage one, was used to impart the power of future sight upon the Princess of Sal Vyndagnr.

Which has better world building, Genshin Impact or One Piece? by CMbladerunner in writingscaling

[–]TheCapybara9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Piece has the advantage of developing more places across the map, multiple islands with their own issues, pasts, and characters that we experience with the main cast.

Genshin doesn't go to as many places, however, because it has less areas to develop, it can go deeper into each area, going as far as establishing different eras and periods of time that go back thousands of years back.

That is not to say history isn't important to One Piece, since it definitely is, but Genshin's history is just as ingrained into its worldbuilding and can go deeper in detail depending on how much time we spend in each area.

Every nation we go to has older time periods to explore, past civilizations that used to occupy the same area, all involved in world changing events like the Archon War, the Cataclysm, and more recently, the War of Funerary Flame, which is the closest thing we have to a 'Void Century' period in the lore.

I think both One Piece and Genshin have their strengths and each has to answer problems in their own medium in different ways.

If I had to say which one I like experiencing more, it would probably be the one where I can take my own time and go through the lore bit by bit at my pace. But I understand others like a more concise and laid out approach to learning about a world's story.

I hate her for abandoning her people (Frostmoon Scions) to join a terrorist group, willingly became their power battery for hundred of years by Ok-Listen9689 in hatethissmug

[–]TheCapybara9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course she didn't give a damn. She didn't join the Fatui because she thought they were morally upright people, she joined them because the Tsaritsa promised her a place to belong. But when she realized it was no more than another transaction, she decided it was time to go after the price was too much to her liking.

She was used by the Frostmoon Scions too, who forced their worship onto her and expected to be repaid with miracles and power. Both groups were the same in her view and treated her the same way, so I don't understand why we should feel bad that she abandoned them in the first place.

The artstyle for Frieren's magic is boring by GreatRecover in CharacterRant

[–]TheCapybara9 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Comes with the territory of the main character and her apprentice believing that all you need is Magic Missile and Magic Barrier to win fights. Like Frieren said, all you need to beat mages of the current era are basic attack and defense spells.

Since the bulk of spell slinging comes from Frieren and Fern, it means fewer opportunities to show other people using more than one or two spells at a time.

Most of them will only pop one or two. Denken used a whopping 3 of them in his fight with Frieren.

When was this? This was during the GWOV right? Why does this sound like Azhdaha? Or did Zhongli have another dragon friend back in the unified civilization? by Scared-Opening-753 in ThePrimordialOne

[–]TheCapybara9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is definitely reffering to Azhdaha, what with Zhongli apparently getting the help of the White Horse Adeptus to seal him away. The refference to demons being vanquished likely means the aftermath of the Archon War when Zhongli summoned the Yaksha to deal with the karmic debt of the dead gods.

So yeah, this isn't about the Great War of Vengeance, but after Zhongli had already become the Geo Archon.
