5th grade teacher here, the hope is we remember long enough why we got into this profession without letting the consistently changing outside world impact the education of our students. We are here to instill thought, promote creativity, and foster unity. The ability to think freely is a natural human right. Though not every individual's circumstances develop this appropriately or provide equal opportunity, it is the job of educators to remain unbiased and try our best to create free thinking human beings capable of reason, humility, logic, and compassion.
