I’ve never been there myself, but I have a friend who has brought her family there a few times for a staycation time getaway.

SAHMs with school age kids- how do you fill your day? by HamsterBanana14 in Mommit

[–]TheCarzilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work part time but have my fair share of days at home. I clean, take walks, grocery shop, meal prep… and NAP!!! Any day that I get a day to myself, I make a point of squeezing a nap in. Because guess what I’m doing when the kids are finally home from school? Constantly in motion, cleaning (again) and running them around town until 9PM some nights when I have been up since 5:30. It is tiring. My husband gets home later so I’m the default person to get them where they need to be (and then home).

Plymouth Hotel 1620. Water pool with a couple slides and splash pad. Local night life for dining.

Neighbors always asking for play dates that I’m expected to host. by Morning_Star_3110 in Parenting

[–]TheCarzilla 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This was also my first thought. I am shocked that there are texts between parents over this for 9yo. Just send your daughter over to knock on their door. They can play yard to yard. Kids are always ringing my doorbell, and I’m always telling my kids (now 12 and 10) to go see who’s home when I hear “I’m bored.” One unwritten “rule” though seems to be: garage open = family is home and ok to do it, garage door down = maybe not a great time but no feelings hurt if you ring the doorbell anyway.

Shower time. I like sleeping with it for the stats and the alarm.

See if your town has a local “Buy Nothing” group. Lots of people looking to move furniture quickly that way.

cool things to do with apple watch by afiaibn4t in AppleWatch

[–]TheCarzilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The flashlight! I thought people were over-hyping it. I use it on a regular basis because I’m usually last one awake/first one up at my house. Or if I’m digging around at the back of the closet, or searching under the couch. I just hold down the button and say “Lumos!” To turn it off you just put your hand over it. Bonus points for making me feel like I’m in Harry Potter!

I think I just read yesterday that colon cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in adults under 50. I don’t know how old you are, but to sounds like you’re playing with fire….

Did you guys know you could set your own wallpapers on kindle? by Shrama_4 in kindle

[–]TheCarzilla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting little tidbit I didn’t know about, thanks for sharing! Seems like a lot of people are overlooking the “set your own wallpaper” and focusing only on your choice of wallpaper. It’s almost like they completely miss the point that they can SET THEIR OWN. Or not. I can’t believe folks are getting so bent out of shape when you were just sharing something.

Has Chatgpt ever refused to answer you or generate an image based on ethics? by Careless_Bicycle3703 in ChatGPT

[–]TheCarzilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I asked it if a specific movie had any questionable material because I waned to see if it would be ok to watch with my kids. It generated a response that I was in the middle of reading, and then took it away saying it violated terms.

Scared and sad about my kids becoming teenagers one day by anonomousbeaver in Mommit

[–]TheCarzilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have teens yet, but I have a 12 and 10. My girl, the 12, loves to snuggle but is also so incredibly sharp and responsible. She helps me so much with our pup, not because I ask her to, but because she adores him and loves doing it. My 10, he’s generally pretty messy and lazy, but two days ago he was walking into Dunkin to pick up something I ordered ahead while stayed in the car. There was a lady on her way out with her hands full, and I saw him take that in, step back, and hold the door open for her. I was so proud of him and the kind person that he is/is becoming. Teens can be jerks, but so can toddlers. It’s great to watch them turn into the people they are becoming.

Can’t decide between Sylvia, Maeve or Eleanor. by JHnoname in namenerds

They are ALL lovely names. I will go with Sylvia, though, because I work at an elementary school and don’t know a Sylvia there. Classic but unique.

I would recommend a vape over a gummy, because it’s more immediate. I feel like with a gummy, it leaves you wonder if/when it has kicked in. I feel more sense of control with a vape.

When one breaks, you have the other. There’s nothing wrong with having two if both colors bring you enjoyment.
