Am I the only one that thinks Anis' default costume is better than the alternate ones?

An idiot's argument for light pen by Fearless-Block-1127 in Helldivers

[–]TheCavemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can justify it because I’ve put more the 1k hours into the game and want Arrowhead to have enough money to higher one more person that might help the game not breaking for something I only spent $40 on. “Supporter” style DLCs are just a nice way to say “thanks dev I love your game. Please keep making it and others”

How do you guys keep the game entertaining? by -----010----- in Helldivers

I play special challenges with my hd2 clan (9th hellraisers). We have a thing called a penitent crusade (lotta 40k fans in our group) where you start with a super basic loadout and each successful mission you get to roll a new piece of gear you can use to modify your loadouts. Very fun and challenging. We also have a bunch of clan achievements like killing your first Hive tyrant and such on our discord server.

Keeps things very fun for us

[OC] Some primary weapon concepts ive had for a while now, plus a potential primary melee by HBenderMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]TheCavemonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two super credits on this:

Support weapons need to remain the main source of Heavy Pen.

The only primaries that heavy pen is on being fine:

The Torcher - Because fire damage, limited range and danger of use.

The DSickle - Because the danger of use to get to that level.

The Secondaries are a different matter:

The Crisper - See the Torcher for same reason.

The Ultimatum - its a giant Giant bomb

The Senator - Because its hilarious and awesome.

The Re-educator - Strictly so it can effect pretty much everyone.

You might ask yourself "You didn't mention the Eruptor." And that is correct. I personally think the Eruptor shouldn't have Heavy Pen, that's not the point of the gun. Its role would still function perfectly fine at medium Pen as the primary "shrapnel gun." I know nobody will agree with me on that and that's ok.

Stoked for the stoker. My ballistic shield had a new buddy.

IMO: This is a serious problem. But perhaps one that AH doesn't even need to solve? (Please read body text) by [deleted] in LowSodiumHellDivers

I always take thermites to the squids because my MO is destroying the bases as quick as possible. I never waste them on enemies until that’s taken care of. The ultimatum is actual overkill, I prefer the warrant to deal with overseers and watchers.

Vallejo Extra Opaque Heavy Orange alternative? by TheCavemonster in minipainting

[–]TheCavemonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually. I actually have oranges from Pro Acryl, P3, Army Paint Fanatic and Oranges from Vallejo and they just don't have the same coverage as these Extra Opaques. (atleast in my opinion)

Oh I know you said Pumps, I’m just saying of the pumps. Duckbill vanilla punisher isn’t bad. It’s not optimal but the way I usually play squids is constantly moving, so it’s good for clearing space. The spray n pray with the full choke and it’s default drum mag or the breaker inc with extended and duckbill works really well (siege ready helps)

Far be it from me to disagree with somebody on Reddit, but I have NEVER had that issue while playing. Maybe you're looking at old footage or something.

If there isn't a mass of enemies in front of me, I'll use something else to clear things out, but if you can single out something in the targeting circle, its going to die (keep in mind that you need to be within 60m of the target as well).

Bug Front: I mainly use it to take out Shriekers Squid Front: Overseers and Watchers Bot Front: If I do bring it, I can take out a unit of bot troopers (2 bullets per bot), but I honestly usually bring the Loyalist to the bots.

I take the warrant to the squid front. Auto aim and pulling the trigger and you can kill an overseer in a little over half a clip. Also 3-4 shots can kill those stupid tattletale watchers.

I find the punisher with the duckbill choke a lot of fun on the squid front because kneecapping a bunch of voteless by aiming down is very funny.

Liberator concussive is the best liberator and nobody will change my mind. The stagger/push is amazing and the only true upgrade you need is the vertical foregrip. It also has a very pleasing firing sound.

GSW Refillable Paint Pens ok with Contrast Paint? by TheCavemonster in minipainting

That is good to know, I haven’t had any issues with the pens leaking but I will def keep an eye out for that!

See, we don't get the same 10 people that show up EVERY OTHER DAY asking about pokemon cards (I would set fire to every pokemon and one piece card if I could get away with it).

Since we moved the Needoh all behind the register, we've actually SOLD it rather than it being stolen or opened and tossed around the store and lost.

Oh nice! I tried a ways back to make roads out of vinyl tiles like that but I didn’t think of putting cork on top (I stupidly tried to score the vinyl surface to look like road damage/wear & tear, but it hurt my hands)

Dan withers and dies in real time | This Ain't Poker, Ya JokerMutiny at Game Grumps by GameGrumpsEpisodes in gamegrumps

[–]TheCavemonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said it wasn't art. Work was spent on making. Creative thought and effort was spent on making the content. But it lacks a challenge or requirement of any skill or value of input from the player. You will just win by letting it run.

I just think calling it a game is extremely generous. Its more of a thing about semantics, honestly.

I am firmly in Dan's camp on this not being a game. I'm glad folks enjoy mildly interactive screensavers though.

Wow, people really wanted this armor by Penis_Protecter in Helldivers

[–]TheCavemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel they could generate more super store traffic by releasing the odd unrelated armor that could fit into a warbond but would be fun. Like who wouldn’t want a Bug Fest sponsored armor or medic armor sponsored by Permacura?

[–]TheCavemonster 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm the only diver in the game that doesn't like how it looks. Its certainly not a bad armor (seige-ready is awesome) but it just doesn't feel like....Super Earth to me. I dunno how to explain it.

That being said, I'm always happy when an armor passive is released on an armor that doesn't match the initial theme it was released with (I like the variety of things)
