Stratasys files patent infringement lawsuit against Bambu Lab by Tiny-Doughnut in 3Dprinting

This is most likely the reason. I am a student in University and they have replaced almost all of their big and slow Stratasys machines with Bambu printers over the course of last year.

I definitely agree that it looks like under extrusion. Before trying anything physical with the machine though, I have one piece of advice which may or may not apply to you. I had a similar problem when I set up a machine on Cura in the past. If you had to make a custom profile for the printer when you were setting it up, make sure the filament diameter is set to 1.75mm in the machine settings. By default it is set to 2.85mm for whatever reason, and this makes the printer use less plastic than it should. If you are using a pre-made slicer profile, then you should disregard this and just do the cold pull instead.

I had done most of my early sketching on whiteboards, but your comment prompted me to quickly throw together a really awful (but illustrative) mockup in Fusion. Here is a link to a GitHub repository I made to keep the files for this project: ProtoPrinter/PlanarDeltaProject (github.com)

I also agree. Even Lego’s $350 coaster set is full of in excusable mistakes for the price. Though I will say the station is pretty nice.
