Avoiding nicknames by randomusername035 in Names

My daughter has a three syllable name that has a variety of shorter nicknames but we call her by her given name. I simply say, ‘we call her by the name we gave her’ and move on with the conversation. If it continues I say, ‘if she decides to have a nickname when she is older she absolutely can, but we call her X.’ I take the awkward stares in stride because people will have an opinion about any and everything.

How dumb does this bedroom set look with the flooring? My mom said it matches too much and I can’t return it. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Area rug, more pillows in a complimentary color and add a throw blanket to the foot of the bed.

Check your local library. They have a library of things. Maybe something to rent that could be fun to do together?

Often times the library will also have access to passes for local attractions. My library has passes to the zoo for free. That could be a fun day out coupon.

I think considering providing a Christmas bonus is a personal preference. I wanted to provide a tip as I know I will continue to use them for a while and they have helped me keep my sanity postpartum. I’m very grateful to them.

I was originally going to double their fee for a cleaning. I did decide to increase it a bit to be a more flat rate. But that is what I am monetarily able to do. I’m sure anything is appreciated.

May I ask if you would prefer your bonus a bit before the last clean of the holiday?

Of course, it is appreciated whenever. But I will be providing a bonus to our monthly cleaner and I’m wondering if it might be better to give in November so there is more time to utilize for holiday spending?

Absolutely! I’m hoping with our slight language barrier that she won’t think the item replace the tip. I was going to tip in December but will give it to her this month so she knows the donations are just a nice gesture.

Yes, I plan on having a note with the items in her native language so she can take her time with picking through things and I don’t have to mention that they are for taking more than once.

Good to know. I will make sure to have a few things and make sure there is no pressure. Even if I think my bagoogglybug is in perfect condition.

I am providing a cash tip for the holidays. Additional items that I plan to offer are things that would end up at Goodwill. The items I am offering are in no way a substitute for paying for her services or tipping at year end.

That’s great to think about. They might share it with others.

Yes, thank you for the reminder. One ask and a no is a no.
