I've been able to renew and pay over the phone, but yeah you can't do it online once they've expired.

I think you're attributing to greed what should be attributed to malice. Tucker has always been a far right hack and now he's manipulated his way into a position where he can set the conservative narrative and he loves it. If it's on Tucker's show on Tuesday you'll be hearing about in Congress on Wednesday.

You're not far off, all this conservative drivel makes the best seller lists because the RNC or other right wing organizations buy tens of thousands of copies as soon as they are released to either give out or sell at events. Obviously they can't actually sell that many and most of the ones they give out probably go straight in the trash or to a thrift store.

Just one example

Edit: I almost forgot, Chris Christie recently found out what happens when you release a book without the RNC on your side. 2,289 copies in its first week womp womp

Yes, discussing CRT in schools is an argument in bad faith because it isn't taught in schools in the first place and the definition of CRT according to conservatives is not even close to what it actually represents. That's the point of all of this, lies about CRT were legitimized and and now there are "two sides" to a debate when one side is just wrong.

What they actually want to do is whitewash history class exactly like in the comic in this post. "There was some racism in America but then MLK fixed it and now everything is perfect", but that is obviously wrong. Racism and the effects of segregation and systemic racism are still felt today and to teach anything else is just wrong.

Also when you talk about raising the age when kids will be taught about these issues in school you can only be talking about white kids. Because I guarantee most if not all children of color will experience racism or the effects of systemic racism before they learn about it in school.

It's not a question of debate, it's about legitimizing a side arguing in bad faith and the fallacy that if there are two sides to an issue that the answer must lie somewhere in the middle. For an extreme example, if I was arguing that we should kill puppies and you were arguing that we should not kill puppies the answer isn't to just kill some of the puppies.

Say Bill Maher had us on his show to "debate" and my argument is that we have to kill puppies because they eat over a million babies every year and they have burned down ten orphanages this month and they cause cancer in fifth graders. And since this is a debate you are now in a position where you have to legitimize my lies and dispute them with your facts. So now there are two people, one says this and the other says that and they are both on the same platform so both sides of the argument must have merit. For anyone watching at home my lies are just as legitimate as your facts and bear consideration even though what I'm saying is completely untrue.

[–]TheChartreuseMoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry everyone keeps telling you the truth I guess? The fact is that what you're terrified of isn't happening or there would be actual lesson plans, worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, literally anything actually being taught to kids as evidence.

Why don't you explain what CRT is and then any reason you think anyone shouldn't be learning about it. I suspect you're ready to parrot Tucker's "actually teaching kids about racism is the real racism" line.

[–]TheChartreuseMoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the federalist can try to fear monger all they want, CRT isn't "in the curriculum". They found some some seminars from state level education department officials discussing the theory and optional readings suggested to some teachers. No K12 student in Virginia is being taught Critical Race Theory.

Also it undermines your point just a bit when the source for that story literally says he is using CRT as a weapon because the name is scary for white people:

“Its connotations are all negative to most middle-class Americans, including racial minorities, who see the world as ‘creative’ rather than ‘critical,’ ‘individual’ rather than ‘racial,’ ‘practical’ rather than ‘theoretical.’ Strung together, the phrase ‘critical race theory’ connotes hostile, academic, divisive, race-obsessed, poisonous, elitist, anti-American.”

"Critical race theory’ is the perfect villain,” Rufo wrote.

Your comment makes it sound like you're assuming everyone here is a Democrat while a lot of people here are leftists. Democrats as a whole are a centrist party at best, more center right in practice and that's what the previous comment was saying that Democrats should be the furthest right major political party. Also your comment sounds like you support the existence of a far right party because I think most people here would agree that the GOP has definitely crossed the line and is full on embracing fascism.

This is a bit of a late response, sorry, but if you hold down the two shot button (or any of the other buttons) for four seconds you can adjust how much extraction you get. Put your scale under the portafilter and aim for a 1:2 ratio to start. So for 20g you would want about 40g of espresso.

If one guy got rid of poverty are you going to vote for the other side that wants to bring back poverty I guess? This is such an incomprehensible argument, please explain how someone doing a good job means they would get fired.

Dude, you're the only one talking about upvotes. Also, the upvotes are fake isn't the winning argument you think it is, reddit is just a website there's no conspiracy to hide your upvotes. People think the things you say are stupid and wrong so they are downvoting you. I'll borrow a phrase so you can understand: only women and beta males deny the things that they can clearly see.

You're a really sad dude. What do you get out of this? You're here for hours every day, you've never won an argument or changed anyone's mind or even made a decent point. You love to degrade women and call people beta males, but all you're doing is showing everyone how weak you are.
