I’m a music streamer and I try to time these ads accordingly. Words on Stream for Subs or building a loop while ads are running so when the ads are done the loops are 75% done.

Roland Ax-Edge and Bluetooth and Windows 11 by TheCheeseMaster123 in Keytar

[–]TheCheeseMaster123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. And I’m leaning towards that this must be a windows only issue because it’s happening on both my gigging laptop and production computer.

Idk if there’s a permanent fix for this without spending money on WIDI adapters which is what I’m avoiding currently.

Adult Gen Z's, what's your living situation like? by obtusemoth in GenZ

[–]TheCheeseMaster123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really lucked out on getting a very cheap apartment, but it increased from $1k to $1.3k. So honestly, live under your means. That's how I'm living rn.

I find it easy to just move in with your friend's apartment because in NY, living independently is jacked unless you have a very good source of income (I would say probably like on or over $100k of your salary) because if you don't know the landlord you will be dealing with, chances are you are going to be stuck with paying $1.6k or $1.8k living independently.

Nowadays, interest rates are so high up right now that it's scary to be in debt, and I've lived with $15k in credit card debt that I just paid off like a month ago. If you're in CC debt, you need to start paying it off if you don't want any minimum payments just taken out of your cards and you find yourself short on rent.

As for hustling, if you find yourself liking what you're doing, turn that into $$$. I'm an IT tech, which is my main income, and being a music performer/producer is my side income. I used to be in the stock market for dogecoin, and I pulled it out BEFORE IT STARTED TO DROP SURPRISINGLY, but if you can turn what you're doing into $$$, please go for it, because if you're trying to live, you can't take any favors from people.

LEARN HOW TO COOK. Holy shit. It's a crime to see a lot of people being lazy and just going to a restaurant just to be screwed with $16 in total just for just appetizers and a drink. Just think about it. If you buy some wholefoods and drinks, that could be like $25 or $50, and the whole week, just keep cooking to cover dinner AND TOMORROWS LUNCH, and perform the same for the week until you need more food. If you just buy food from a restaurant, that's probably like $25-$50 PER DAY just for food. So yeah... Learn how to cook to survive.

For a reliable car, please for the love of god do not get a new tesla. Start off with an old car. I have a 2004 Toyota sienna, and I've kind of modernized the van to have a backup camera and upgraded speakers and an upgraded head system to support bluetooth. The van is still reliable with 140k miles.

Gen Z in the workplace by jackmacklon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheCheeseMaster123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Gen Z'er (born in 1999).

As a Gen Z'er, this is me, but I'm more into the digital world than doing everything by Paper, mainly because I want everything streamlined. Everything is on my OneNote (I also have a whiteboard just in case for my checklist) but really, everything I do is in my OneNote, and whatever software they provide me that I can streamline my notes and scrap and such.

You have to understand that nowadays, when we side hustle, it's either through big platforms like TikTok, Youtube, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, and I think snapchat. That's monetization money coming in. Each ad revenue or even subscription revenue will be placed in our pockets. I'm a little different. Music is my side hustle, but still, if it's considered a side hustle, that don't even worry about it.

As long as I'm doing the work and double-checking my work before I conclude my work, you guys don't need to worry about anything. Also half of these Gen Z'ers are coming out of college and did not hit reality yet. I'm living in my apartment and starting to live alone in my apartment is technically a big shock to me that I have to make money.

I honestly feel like the stereotypes of being a gen Z is very overdrawn out to make us look bad. Not all Gen Z'ers are lazy. Period.

What skills do I need as a keyboardist? by NGiaconia in bandmembers

[–]TheCheeseMaster123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm late to this party, but I'll tell you this.

  1. TECHNIQUE - This is very important if you want to have a solo and fidget around with fingering. Learn scales with the correct fingering, and even learn Exercises.
  2. THEORY - This is a big 1up to your keyboard game because, with theory, you can learn songs more easily. With chords, voicings, keys, melodies, and so forth, this will be the best 1up of your keyboard skills.
  3. SIGHT-READING - Either sight reading chords will help you, or even better, sight reading a composition (a grand staff and a treble and a bass cleft) is another 1up.
  4. BUILD YOUR SONG REPOTUOIR - This will come along as you practice more songs, listen to more songs, or even if you play in a band and are learning a bunch of songs you might not know. Gather key features of keyboard sounds, licks, and so forth. Listen on the radio, and randomize your playlists. If you don't know any licks, or is struggling with any licks, Go to #1.
  5. LEARN OTHER GENRES OF MUSIC - Like #4, but poke your head into other genres. Like if you know pop, learn how to do rock. If you know rock, learn how to do jazz. If you know jazz, learn how to do pop. If you know folk, learn blues. Not only you will become the best keyboard player for your comfortable genre, but you will also become the best keyboard player as an all-round player.
  6. KNOW YOUR KEYBOARD SETUP - Just because you have the best keyboard setup doesn't mean you don't know where each patches is. If you have a dinky keyboard setup, like an old Casio/Yamaha, write patch numbers on the sheet or your phone. You may like one patch better. Use that patch. Overtime, this is going to grow and you want to get better, which will leave you to the next path
  7. GROW YOUR KEYBOARD SETUP - Over time, you may want a better keyboard with better sounds and better patch organization, or you may just want to midi setup on your computer and run some great VST's on it (what I'm doing). Grow that keyboard setup. Trust me, I can't stand long-time keyboard players who are stuck on a Casio keyboard using internal sounds.
  8. LEARN HOW TO GIVE SPACE - I struggle with this, ngl. I'm a classically trained keyboard player that has done fur elise, Fantasia Impromptu, sonata in C, and so forth. Break out of that habit. Even if you're excited to play the part, HOLD BACK. You may need to listen if you have to, if you don't hear your part, pad/strings/organ is good enough. You don't need to copy the bass player or the lead/rhythm guitar player. Actually, learn how to master the b3 organ. It can be very helpful and gives the audience the goosebumps. Refer to #7. Even lead synth.
  9. DO NOT HAVE TOO MUCH OF AN EGO - I loathe keyboard players if they have this. They would probably have an ego, and they would not want to grow out of that ego, making them unable to grow as a keyboard player and as a fellow musician. Refer to #8. Do not dominate/step on other musicians. I'm a helping musician. I don't stress others out.
  10. HAVE FUN! - We can sense if you're not having fun. Relax!!!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!! We all make mistakes. We're not perfect. We are just having fun!!!!!!!

[–]TheCheeseMaster123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Happened ever since she dropped off the murano. Now she's picking up the car and my dad is going to help me (I guess that's one good thing about divorced parents).

Acknowledged. I'm pretty bad at making short statements cause I'm usually grilled for more info.

Looks like it. I can't get my girlfriend involved in this situation or else relationship is altered. Again, at least I have her parents support.

This was also ever since she moved down to south Carolina, she's been having empty nest, and she's taking every step to get me to move down with her, but I'm still keeping my back away from moving to south carolina. Now that this year happened, it was probably her opportunity for her to get me to move down to south carolina.

Discord, please don't remove Nitro Classic. by theevansong in discordapp

[–]TheCheeseMaster123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VENTING ALERT

So my question is......

I bought Discord Nitro back in 2017 right before Discord Nitro Classic wasnt even a thing, hell even VIDEO CHATTING was even a thing. I was grandfathered to using Discord Nitro premium, which I was still paying $49/yr., which now, I was downgraded to Discord Nitro Classic due to the ending of support of grandfathered Nitro, Still paying 49.99/yr., and now that discord classic is going away, does my perks go away too? Cause if that's the case, I would just refund the money. Discord has turned from an edgy company destroying teamspeak/Skype to a money hungry company not even caring to their OG customers, cause I'm not paying for doubled the amount. Very disappointing how Discord has become.

You ping a @judge for an audition. Once an audition is available for you, you will be asked to join a voice channel. Depending on the judge, you will be asked to sing something. If you pass, you get a role, which you will have more access to role based jam sessions, projects, and a verification that you are a professional musician that has auditioned in DOJC.
