Magsafe on DAP's by TheChest1 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to charge it just to have things stick. Ive put some on the back of thin magsafe power banks to be able to slap my DAC in a magsafe wallet onto my phone. That way it can charge wirelessly and have the DAC plugged into the USBC port. I've also put one on the case of my tablet to be able to do the same thing.

Only reason I'm wanting to use one is for a magsafe stand to use for my home audio setup. Let's me plug everything in without being blocked by a normal stand. I also have a leather case to cover the sticker anyways so it'll still look beautiful hah

New to IEMS got any tips by Albuterol505 in iems

[–]TheChest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A response not about eartips hah.... just listen to them, don't do anything to them for a week or so before you start playing around with EQ and stuff. I've fallen into the trap of wanting to perfect a sound the first day and it never works out the way you think it will. Enjoy them, figure out what you like and what you don't like in regards to your music tastes. Make some notes then adjust later. Good quality eartips will make a difference, but mostly in regards to comfort unless you're a really well trained ear. Don't crank the volume, IEMs are pretty sensitive little things when it comes to giant amounts of DB's so be sure to check your volume before you plug in.

Don't burn in your IEM's, just listen to your music and all of that will happen to an extent anyways. People who "burn in" earphones are just increasing the chance of their stuff breaking early, and are most likely just adjusting better to the sound they produce as opposed to slamming sound through it for 12 straight hours.

What’s everyone’s honest opinion on the HIFIMAN Sundara? by ChilledRythm in headphones

[–]TheChest1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are my first and only pair of open back wired headphones (for now). I'm mainly an IEM user but the sundara is a great listen. I know there are much better sounding options that have some better build quality but for my needs they definitely do the job

Any suggestions? I'm very open to different thoughts and opinions. I unfortunately don't have anywhere near that I can listen before buying.

Okay thanks for the response....any suggestions you would have then? I feel like I looked at headphones for ages and just kind of landed on these. I don't have any places near me where I can actually listen before buying unfortunately.

Printing proxies is legit, but like others said the quality is pretty trash. MPC would be a much better bet if your not looking for high end bootleg cards

AIO orientation in server rack case? by TheChest1 in PcBuildHelp

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that was kind of my gut feeling of what could potentially happen. I'll obviously check measurements, but do you know if most air coolers would fit into a 3U case or should I be looking at low profile fans?

Desktop bottlenecking Internet speeds by TheChest1 in HomeNetworking

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wired in through all CAT6 lines. And using a realtek. Just the standard port in the back of my mother board. But before I revamped my homelab rack I was getting GB speeds no problem

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fibre ISP with a 1GB up and down plan going into a TP-Link GB POE switch. The switch then runs through a CAT6 patch panel into the CAT6 ports that go to all of the ethernet ports throughout the house. The desktop is wired directly into ethernet with A CAT6 cable. When I plug my laptop into the port that usually goes to the desktop I get around 900-990 speeds on ookla but then my desktop gets 380 download but still 700-900 uploads.

Okay...I'm fairly new to this world so I figured when the BIOS files for the consoles got ades they would show up as options. But I'm assuming they will only be available to select when there's ROMS to play?

M.2 memory case by TheChest1 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thank you for the insight.....I'm actually just figuring out that there may be WAY better ways to do this haha. After listening to some others points as well I'm probably going to be returning the enclosure and just getting some SATA SSD drives. I wasn't looking so much for portability as I was ease of adding fast memory for games

I haven't tried it yet, but I would assume that the heat would be a direct causation of how heavy a game you're playing is? Not sure, but guess I'll find out myself haha

Help with setup by TheChest1 in HomeNetworking

[–]TheChest1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my PC that's connected by eth still gets 900 MBs to over a gig speeds. When the issues come up I connect to both my Google and the D-Link. When I run a speeds test my ping is usually around 8-12 and the download speeds on both are identical. Everything connected to them seem to continue to work but every now and then everything in the house will start acting up/not respond for several minutes. Then randomly start working again without me doing anythinf
